Where the Hell Have You Been

cornerofmadnessThe first words out of grandma's mouth when Mom visited her in the hospital after spending all morning fetching her hearing aids, teeth and glasses and trying to find a rehab hospital for her. This was followed up by "you really got me into a mess this time." (as if Mom gave her a UTI) and a flat out refusal to listen to the OT about her arm because 'they're stupid.' Yeah OUR conclusion, the antibiotics are working and the bitch is back. Thanks though for everyone's kind wishes for her.
My other subject heading was going to be WHY?
Why oh why are you plucking out carpet fibers and eating them Kanda?
Why did one of you steal the floor vent out of the living room (I thought Soul had gone down into the vent shaft)?
Why was it necessary to knock off the stack of graded papers and use them as a slip and slide all over the living room?
Why were you possessed to pull up the floor vent in the bathroom and eat the mystery shit hanging off of it?
and a why that's NOT for the cats, WHY can the biology faculty never agree any damn thing?
In happy news, I finished the edits on the Scarred Soldier story. Now to give it a new and longer ending. If I get this out the door to my beta readers I could concievably submit this novel this year!!
ETA - finished editing the original novella for Scarred Soldier. It's now up to 43,798, so that's @ 16K for me to write. Those of you who've read it, now would be a good time to make suggestions.

I've noticed that with aging people mellow, get nasty, or thankfully keep their wits about them and just get decrepit in body. (Yes, clearly I am going to be taking Human Development next semester. They only have ONE SECTION for the ENTIRE college... it's a REQUIREMENT for Nursing... HOW the hell does this make any sense? ONE SECTION? With only 35 slots????) *I'm stalking the registration page next year and refreshing until it opens and then GETTING that class.
I suggest vitamin V... for you. Or a little Vitamin W. :) Vitamin B works too. Oh my, is it o'wine thirty already?? Hang in there. Maybe the docs will get your Mom a Valium. ;)

Date: 2012-09-13 04:16 am (UTC)Oh my grandma has ALWAYS been a bitch. SHe had 3 kids, her eldest, her golden child and then my mom and her brother (i.e. the SERVANTS). she hates medical professionals in general because they tell her things she doesn't want to hear.
good luck getting that class and in my experience, the nice old people never stay on my roster long (they passed) but the nasty assed ones were gonna live for fucking forever.
