But before that, I FINISHED MY NOVEL KEPT TEARS! Yay. I am SO proud of myself. I will be sending it to my first readers (with the understanding that between nano and the holidays it probably won't get back to me until January and there by my dreams of sending it out this year die but hell even if they DID get it back to me I doubt I could get the edits done by the end of the year).

I had 4 hours of writing time while my students bombed their way through the bone practical. I had 4 100% and two of them who got less than 10 right out of 80 even though they've had 10 weeks to study this. To paraphrase Sheldon Cooper, I cry because others are stupid and it makes me sad.

I DID get over 3K written though in that time frame. Back to the drawing board for more since I need that buffer.

After prepping it for weeks, I used my alchemy tarot card (which has rather different symbols and meanings and no apparent reverse other than I suppose the exact opposite of the upright). Naturally I asked about the writing. It said I'm not making a living with it now (looks at royalty check that came today, true), that I have all the tools to succeed and that I would but I would have to deal with my health issues (thanks tarot, I think that was obvious) and topped it all off with the death card. I sure hope that's death to not getting paid well...

I'll bbl with an eta on nano progress, yes it's that time of year. You know you want to know have no interest but indulge me anyhow.

Yay to finishing the novel! It's cool that we both finished novels together this year, though not surprising, because I think we both wanted to clear our slates for NaNo. I wrote 3,000 words today, too. Gotta build that bumper for the days I get crap-all done (like this coming Tuesday--work, Dad's doctor appointment and oh, yeah, I've gotta wedge going to vote in there somewhere in my nonexistent spare time. The ballot is monstrous, all bloated up with amendments to the state constitution, so it'll take people all day to fill the thing out. Can you say lines out the door all day? I knew you could!)

thanks. I'm now over 4K and I think i can stay up another half hour

they made me SO sad. THis same class last year only one didn't pass. THis year, half won't make it. I mean i have three who literally have zero chance of even making a D (60%)

YIKES... a FOUR HOUR LONG practical? (Or was this ALL your lab sections?)

I'm impressed with the 100% grades... NOT so much with 10/80. Seriously? That's just SAD.

Now I'm curious and want to "take" your practical and see how I stand up. I just had mine on Monday. Fingers crossed.
