To setting up the new computer. I do have it up and running but need to figure out how to transfer files to it most effeciently (I.e. every damn flash drive is filled and it's gonna take me some planning.) Also windows 8 can bite me. Want to know how long it took me to figure out how to get to the desktop (yeah yeah reading instructions might have helped).

Booze Report - Penn Brewery's Penn Dark (one from Pittsburgh!) was a very good dark beer, nice and rich with just the right amount of bitter.

And for the Woodchuck Cider fans, I have their limited release - Winter. At first I was like why does it have a piney taste? It really does taste a bit like christmas. Is it rosemary? No....hmmm I know the taste. Okay so finally I look at the label (me and instructions again). it's OAK. AH, so it's brewed and stored like chardonnay. Frankly I think it works so much better in the cider than the wine to be honest. I usually don't like the oak taste but it works here. This is yummy. I like autumn better but this is good.

The meeting at work was a lot less contentious than imagined. Thank God.

It's going to be fun playing on the new computer once you get it all loaded up, but ouch! that you got one just when Windows 8 became standard. So far, everybody seems to hate Windows 8. Maybe it's better than I think, and once you get used to it it's worlds better than Windows 7. You'll have to let me know.

I wouldn't even know where to look in Florida for Woodchuck Cider, Winter edition. Florida is beer-conservative and apparently cider-unfriendly (we also seem to think we're going to secede from the Union again, but that's another story).

Ah Florida, so full of WTF

I never even found the Autumn. *pout* I can at least say this episode has introduced me to WoodChuck, which has become my new favorite (I like the Granny Smith and Pear best, but I've been happy with every flavor).

Granny Smith is good. I might put a Pear one in my next build your own 6 pack

I just bought one and was very specific about getting Windows 7. Also, I signed up for Carbonite and hope that's going to make the transfer of files easier. I'll let you know in a couple of weeks how that went. I didn't do it just for transfer--wanted online backup anyway. It's about $60 a year.

To get what I wanted from where I wanted Windows 8 was the only option.

I have considered carbonite. But leery of them getting hacked with stuff I wouldn't want up there

Yeah, that is a concern, but I've already been so hacked by having my SSN in the state dept of revenue and at my college that I'm not really worried. Don't keep credit cars and stuff like that on any document.

My favorite Woodchuck Cider is the 802 Dark & Dry. I had trouble finding it here until I realized it just says 802 on the label. I'd been looking for the words Dark & Dry.

Here's a link to their website. I had to look it up recently to find a place to buy it. It has info on all the varieties.

You're welcome. They also have some good sounding recipes on the site for both food and drinks.
