What I Imagined - Purchasing scads of books, movies, PC games and tea and playing santa far and wide, bringing a smile to my friends/family's faces.

What Really Happened - I log on late afternoon and start picking out what I want then get distracted by [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog and by the time I get back to buying things I realize oops, need to go make dinner.

I call Mom and learn my moron of a brother (how can someone so smart also be so dumb) only picked out 2 things for the holidays, one was already out of stock and he sent it to me and mom and she had already bought it and he didn't TELL Us this. If not for ELD I'd own a stupid Pittsburgh Pirates waste can (if it was Steelers I'd have kept it). So now I scramble to find a PC game to fill the void and get free shipping. Only Firefox keeps fucking up (it's got a bug here AND at work) where adobe keeps crashing so I can't navigate Amazon.

All THREE of my damn book clubs are so overwhelmed the sites are crashed. No joy there. Let's hope they'll honor the deal tomorrow because they had one bug, announced they had a bug but it was still buggy as of 1130

Adagio tea loaded too BIG for the screen on IE (since FF was being an ass) and Books a million wouldn't let me into my cart to remove something.

FInally I just shut the whole computer down and start again on FF. Got the tea bought without an issue. Books a million DUMPED my cart in the middle of me ordering it and I had to start again. Finally get what I want on Amazon and it too empties the cart and one of the things is from the UK so I have to start taht again. For three hours I've been struggling and barely got half of what I wanted.

I would have been less frustrated if I were in the mall throat punching someone to get what I wanted.

bah humbug.

But on a funny holiday note I was in the grocery store yesterday and they were playing Lou Monte's version of JIngle Bells and since I grew up in the Pittsburgh area which is VERY Italian in some areas this is the version I learned as a kid. I was mumbling along slowly realizing people were looking and that I was the only one who knew what was being said.

I hid from Cyber Monday in a craven and cowardly fashion. Now I'm glad I did, even if I did pay more for my Xmas presents a month ago.

And looked at two other things today but realized I should've run to the bank and switched $$$ around to buy them.
