and otherwise wasting time (especially since LJ ATE the first run of this post). I should be typing especially since the story is finally talking to me (and man is Connor being a dick). But I think dinner just needs to settle. It was guilty pleasure dinner, chili cheese dogs.

Got this from Rahirah. Truth telling time, I didn't get far outside the airport in Texas and spent only a few moments in New Mexico. I don't honestly remember much about Iowa and Montana (rolling pub crawls whilst living in South Dakota, entirely possible that I've rolled thru North Dakota too and can't remember). I obviously have had no reason to visit the far northwest (though I want to) nor the deep south (and I really feel no pressing need).

The only reason I made it as far out as I did was that my sister lived in Vegas for a few years. And we drove over to Arizon on a day trip. [chuckle] I don't have anything to do in the west. Maybe one day I'll make it up to Seattle or something, but I don't see too much point....

Think that's it. Good bit more that I'd want to see in most of the places, except maybe Texas.

it's interesting how most of us have managed to hit CA. I'm a little curious about Utah there.

California: Berkeley has a decent Indian population, and was the first (and still only place) where I've seen actual physical stores for audio books. The U of B students kept asking me for directions, apparently I look like a native. The goodwill there is where my copy of "The Strategies of Satan" came from.

Davis had a couple of nice book stores, a lovely little bakery a block from the train station, and a university that was willing to pay to put elusive through grad school if she would model duckish eating habits on the computer.

Utah: A server vault, a really, really, really big airport, and some mormons. One of /those/ trips.

Oh I've had THOSE trips.

California - podiatry seminar. Skipped it to go to the beach with my friends. Should have stayed at the seminar since my friends didn't want to a) touch sand b) touch water so we sat there while they drew pictures of tehir RPG characters while i was bored out of my freaking mind

pity. It's nothing like Floridian beaches, so rugged and beautiful (but not so good for lounging and sunning)

We'll have to go some time. I'd like to see more than I've had an opportunity to see anyway.

Maybe when the cute one is older, take a month off during summer break, and do the Amtrak thing...
