I got 650$ to go to Vegas. Yeah, it's only a third of what I needed but it's something. They only have 17K for the entire faculty and had 35K in requests. I am not complaining. that's the price of the con and air fare (well almost). Hell I'm already drowning in debt so what's a little more? Hey I haven't paid more than 75 in groceries in weeks (which for me having to cope with my dietary issues is doing good) so little steps.

Remember me mentioning tense and pov a week or so ago in my Writerly Ways? Well I just read the first two chapters of a YA book that was promising a Sword in Her Hand which is historical fiction about some Flemish princess. I know nothing about that time period (She's a real person) but it starts in future perfect then into present tense even for her own birth. It was like a cheese grater on skin. Taking it back to the library. ah well.

actually my second summer in Madison wasn't too unlike this. They were yo yoing off the eaves and the balconies. the landlord kept sending memos saying they couldn't do anything about it. I couldn't use my balcony that year
