It was a near miss! Sheesh. Never sign up for ficathons when you're in the middle of finals. Here we go. My contribution to Leni_BA's B/A ficathon. Why is it every time I try to write B/A, those two refuse to play nice? Everyone else can write these nice, tight angsty or fluffy plots and I put them together and the only thing they're willing to do is sprawling action/adventure things (which is just as well since my restrictions were no angst, no fluff). Sheesh. Just once, I'd like a nice emotional piece without the ensemble but will these two cooperate? Hell no.

So without further ado I give you The Color of Time. It needs more polish. I know that. It'll look better when I get time to do that and get it up on my site (Sorry, Sorcha, I wanted it to look better than this) Still, I hope you enjoy. Let me know.

and you think that one is coincidence because...?

Loved the story. Great voices for everybody and the Giles/Jenny pool frolic was too funny. Plus I shivered at Jenny's comments about her threads being short. Oh, poor Jenny. Buffy's comment about not knowing you could get grey allover was hysterical, as was Willow's panic about indulging in self-love.

Very, very cute all around.

In other news, I didn't get to leave you a review on "A Most Stormy Life", so here goes. Very different, this is one of those stories that I would actually like to see continue. The fact that his girlfriend is a gypsy makes me wonder whether she was steered Connor's way by those vengeful nuts. And the way Connor's innate darkness kept spilling out was a nice, spooky touch. If I was Angel, I'd get out of town.

Thanks I'm glad you liked it. I felt my story was a bit rushed and well, it really was given my time commitments (heck I've two more ficathons coming due in the next week). I tried to have some fun with The Color of Time.

As for a Most Stormy Life, I'm glad you liked that too. I enjoy exploring Connor. Tshaya came out more as an exploration of my own self and the relatively new found knowledge that I'm very most likely half Romany and I've been looking at that culture. But then I realized well duh, there is definitely going to be the 'is she there to keep an eye on ANgel and his spawn' question. If I ever get a spare moment I wouldn't mind exploring this AR again

Thanks. Glad you liked it. I've just started doing B/A and it's either all S1-3 or future stuff. I do like doing S1-3 stories though.

Sometimes it's nice to go back there in fiction -- things were so much simpler then, and you captured that really nicely. :)

Thanks and I agree. I tend to get stuck in ruts (Spike/Dru, anything Connor). Half of these ficathons I'm doing is so I can remember to stretch those wings of mine.

Me too. They're great for that, aren't they? I've got some assignments that are blowing. My. Mind. *G*

Absolutely loved it! Reminds me of why I loved the early seasons so much. It was funny, serious, and sweet all at once.

This line in particular caught my attention:
Jenny: “Why are my threads so short?”

That was a great piece of foreshadowing.

Great fic! I really enjoyed reading it!

Thanks. I'm glad you liked it. I do love writing in the early seasons of Buffy.

Now to find time to read everyone else's fic...I'm SO behind

You're welcome!

And I know what you mean! I'm still trying to work through the ficathon fics. I had to print out the masterlist so I could check them off as I got a chance to read them.

There's an idea. Heck I still need to find a way to contact the mods at Raving Mad and loving it to tell them I needed invited back in since my connorsdom email was hacked and destroyed...

I'm anal retentive. I have to have a systematic way to do things *g*

Do you mean Raving Lunatic and Proud? If so I can email Chris or Flauka to let them know you need to be reinvited. Actually if you go to the group page you can join you just have to wait till they accept your membership. If it helps any, here is the group page:

That's the one (Its late. I'm lucky I can remember my own name. I took the link you sent and rejoined. If I could hunt down the person who screwed with my account I'd probably hurt them...a lot.

A system works though> i tend to NOT use one when I'm reading then end up rereading a lot.

hehe...brains are meant to work late at night! Glad you were able to rejoin!

I got too confused trying to go through all the ficathon fics so I just printed out a list. I wanted to read and send feedback to people. I'm on a big feedback kick lately. I think a lot of people are getting frustrated by the lack of feedback so I'm just trying to help out :)

usually my brain works late at night, last night I was medicating my broken tooth with rivers of alcohol. Numbed it right up :-)

ANd yes, feedback is very important. I'll be honest so far in a lot of the ficathons/challenges I've done. I've been getting feedback from the person I wrote the challenge for less than 25% of the time. THAT hurts. Getting it from others is gravy but it's like sheesh I wrote it for you, you could at least tell me you read it (I mean, waiting a week for feedback is okay I know we're all busy but to never here? AH well)

This is the first ficathon that I've participated in, but I have to say I agree; not getting feedback from the person you wrote for really does suck. I've not heard a peep from the person I wrote for. It does hurt. I mean, you spend X amount of time writing a fic for THEM, making sure it fits their requests and restrictions and then they say nothing. Personally, I think it's rude, but that's my opinion.

Yep but like I said, I'm willing to wait a few weeks even before I get ticked because of RL concerns but I never heard back from Angel Book of Days challengers for fall or winter and I'm now on my Spring challenge. Heck I'm still waiting for my B/A and Dru ficathon stories.

That really sucks.
Ficathons seem like a lot of fun, but then there's also people who don't write their fics or send feedback to people who wrote for them. For the B/A Ficathon my last count was that there were 11 MIA fics. Oh well. I guess that's the way some people are.

That pretty much happens a lot. Some people get writers block. Some have RL getting in the way. Some bite off more than they can chew. Some just ilke getting fic written for them without responding (there was a warning about one such person on one challenge because she's done it so often but I don't know the name).

And if I don't get writing I'LL be one of the MIA's for teh BUffy/Lindsey ficathon.
