My loans can bite the biggest part of my ass. AES didn't have ANY info on where to mail my income forebearance paperwork to. It's not on the website. It's not on the form. You call and you get the 'high volume, we aren't answering for hours message'. I emailed them every day for a week and no one got back to me so I called yesterday and the message literally said we can't take more calls, call tomorrow. SO I did. Ripping. At least the girl gave me the address and then begged me to let her ask the scripted questions so she wouldn't get in trouble. Fine. But she didn't know what kind of loans these are. "Federal' no fuck Einstein. What KIND so I can tell if I can get public service forgiveness. She has no idea and gives me a number to call (special, the dept. of education because you know they're so on top of things). And then emails me an application for direct access to my bank account so things like this don't happen again. Excuse me but giving you direct access would mean you could take whatever you want. Do you think I've had a frontal lobotomy? You can't be trusted when I type in the amount. How could you be trusted with direct access.

Even if your loans don't qualify for PILF, if they're direct loans, you might be able to set them up for ICR or IBR repayment plans, which do forgiveness after 25 years. In any case, best of luck doing battle with your servicer!

yeah I'm in IBR but the interest on this loan is SO bad it's now up to half a million I have to pay back. Oh medical school why were you so expensive?
