I'm Baaaaaaaaaaack!
Sep. 11th, 2013 10:04 pmApparently being a half-crazed bitch got it done. I went home at 1:30 after class but before my meeting, had no internet, called them, told them I understood that they're a small organization and I can understand if they can't get a tech out but NOT returning my phone calls for over 24 hours and my next call would be to their grant provider (I live in such a piss poor place that we need a gov. GRANT to get internet here). I came back 2 hours later there was a phone call saying it was fixed and it was. Outside my house. No need to be in it. So why didn't it get fixed right the first two times??
Kanda is disappointed I'm back in my computer room. I was disappointed at how much I could hear the neighbors scream at each other/the kids when I was in the living room for that week. And like I said, you get paranoid about reporting it. Turns out it happened to my 19 y.o. cousin at the house she rents with 3 friends for college. There was a fight between 2 girls outside the house, they told them to break it up (not wise) luckily they were ignored and when one girl started choking the other, they called 911 and the 2 girls fighting stopped and got the guy with them to bust out my cousin's window and he tried to go after the girls but the cops got there but not before he escaped. If I were in the city with a quick response time, I wouldn't hesitate. I live in BFE. I'll be dead or will have hurt someone by the time cops get here.
These 2 links are from ES Daniel Radcliffe in Horns I didn't even know they were making this into a movie. I want to read this book. I should get on it. And I have a new to me station, Ovation, that has a new show this October, The Young Doctor and Daniel is the star of that too. I'm also watching the Artful Detective, which is a Canadian (I think, it's set in Canada) production, a history (with a bit of a fast and loose touch to the history). It's a few years old but I'm enjoying it
Batman and Captain America to the rescue This is not that far from me. It's down by the closet mall to me, not quite 70 miles from here.
I have nothing new or enlightening to say about 9/11. Instead I give you this haunting piece of music composed in memoriam. I really think it's a fascinating composition.
declutter day 123 item tossed -Medium sized red suitcase why kept -Used it why tossed - Got crushed by Pittsburgh Airport (and I have no idea why I didn’t toss it 3 years ago when it happened)

Date: 2013-09-12 02:41 am (UTC)I hear you about reporting neighbors for bad behavior. A coworker of mine (male) was griping because some neighbors had called the fire department to make his wife put out a trash fire in their yard. Apparently, the wife got in trouble and had to pay a fine for burning too close to the neighbor's house, and he wanted to know why the people hadn't just come over and asked her to stop instead of calling in a complaint. I'm thinking, if I'd walked up the alley one night and asked the drug addict neighbor with the bonfire to please put out the fire because I wanted to have my windows open that evening, he could well have shot me. My coworker is an ex-cop, but the his neighbors didn't know that. You don't dare confront people directly anymore. As my outlaw neighbor with the closet full of pot plants illustrates, it's dangerous.

Date: 2013-09-12 02:46 am (UTC)it is dangerous and it's very dangerous when there are only like 6 apts. It's not hard to figure out who turned them in

Date: 2013-09-12 05:43 pm (UTC)LOL the cat got rescued, which is great... but did it survive?? I wonder if those dudes took extra time to get into their outfits while the house was burning or if they already had them on.
