So far so good
Mar. 2nd, 2014 10:11 pmThe weather, not my sugar. There is no good there. I decided to opt out of a writerly ways today because I need to get on that novel now that I got my grading done!
But I DID want to thank you all for your suggestions. They went into a file for future references. Knowing my dark hair fetish, I'll need more faces. To be truthful, Kaleo is part Polynesian extract (such as it will be in the future) and part alien. It was NOT easy to Google Polynesian entertainers. Mostly the best I could do was famous Hawaiians (and Barack Obama was so not what I was going for). I did come up with some Asian fellows and thought a bi-racial Asian/Caucasian would be close. That's when I found someone I haven't thought of in years (and he's aging well, too bad his acting career is mostly B-rated and lower).
Some of you may remember Mark Dascascos from The Brotherhood of the Wolf and one of the Crow sequels. I didn't know he did a live-action Crying Freeman. I'm sure it sucks but I still sort of want to see it.
He'd probably make a very good Kaleo.
Of course this got me thinking about the first Crow and of the young actor taken far too early: Brandon Lee. I always thought he was beautiful. Of course, I'm not sure how I feel about using someone who died so young the way he did (I'm going to have similar thoughts about the character I based on young Heath Ledger). Brandon would also be good though.
I spent the day grading and cooking. It's only rained so far so keep those fingers crossed. I want to avoid the predicted frozen drizzle. It can snow tomorrow. Go nuts. Just no damn ice. I'd appreciate another day off to get that damn novella done. I have so much food cooked: a whole chicken, a whole pizza, greek lemon soup, a ham and bean soup that looks like something Andrew Zimmern would eat it's so full of salted pork and pig skin that it looks like a witch's brew and is slippery with collagen, roasted a pan full of brussel sprouts, parsnips and fennel, roasted asparagus, hard boiled a dozen eggs. I might be ready for a few days of no power (You know since I did this, power will stay on. If I did nothing, there would be no power).

Date: 2014-03-03 04:24 am (UTC)Brandon was. Oh tell me about it. I even have special run sound tracks that were only available in special collections. Let's not go into all The Crow stuff I own (two pages of the original artwork for the comic, other original run art, posters including one the girls out in SD fucked up)

Date: 2014-03-03 11:06 am (UTC)and I can't find your eggs on your cave scroll... are they hidden? (it's usually easier for me to click from there - not that I can even register a click with how my dragon cave experiences have been lately)

Date: 2014-03-03 04:58 pm (UTC)No I just checked it is not hidden. It's under this same name. I can never find scrolls which is why I never click there

Date: 2014-03-04 01:40 pm (UTC)ah I bet i know why. I switched it to show by breed so I could easily find the pinks to influence the sexes. I'll fix that
