I figured it was coming and hey I kept my power. I've about given up teaching anything this semester. I missed that many days already. I DID read all my novella and to my horror there are three huge timeline slips. Now [livejournal.com profile] wildrider and [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog didn't see these because these are scenes I added in after reading their edits. I AM however rather annoyed that the editor missed them. He spent a lot of time picking on things that may or may not deserve it (some definitely do) and missed that? I think there was a bit of tunnel vision there. I'm currently working on that now but I'm not sure how the hell I can do that and get those three scenes rewritten in the next two very busy days. I am going to be SO glad to see the back of this damn thing.

I got SO lucky today. I called my insurance to double check if i could see a doc back in Pittsburgh. It was a 20 minute wait. They said go online. Well on the 'contact us' part it gives me FAQs but NOT way to email my question. Luckily it was less than a 20 min. wait and yes, I can see the doc. I ask about the email and they said 'only certain policies can contact us online.' SOOOOO you're telling me unless I'm premium you won't let me contact you? Oh I'm so going to HR with this. Bite me. Maybe this will be the last year I have to deal with them.

Anyhow, the lucky part is I called and got an appt for NEXT week at the orthopedic surgeons back home. Do you know how unheard of that is especially for a shoulder guy (they're rarer). They asked how my brother was (they send him work.) I need this. I haven't been complaining much about my shoulder but I can barely move it now. I can't lift my arm to shoulder height without pain and forget about reaching for anything.

So the media loves telling us how shopping malls are going the way of the dodo. I just spent an hour putting bras in my virtual shopping cart, trying to suss out which ones actually went with the sale and that's when I see it. TWELVE dollars in shipping and handling? Almost as much to return it if it doesn't fit. You know what, give me a mall any damn day of the week. At least I know it fits before I buy it. And yes, I hit delete on that virtual shopping cart. The real problem is finding a plus size shop in person that has bras. I hate Lane Bryant's bras. They fall apart every time I buy them. And I'm more than a little pissed that Bali's (my favorite bras) has a 34 bra on a plus sized store. I wore that when I was 120 pounds (though they are an 'outside vendor' so maybe it's linking to their entire store).

Kanda had a moment. He dug into the recycler while I was eating and managed to loop a paper bag with jute handles over his neck and it hit him in the ass. TERRIFIED he started racing through the apt slamming into everything and of course since he has the bag over his neck he can't get away (well he could if he had just stopped and backed up). Dumbass runs under my bed and my arm about falls off with pain as I reach under and get the bag off his neck. He cries a couple of times but I can't get him out to be sure he didn't hurt himself. He reappeared about a half hour later (he's fine)

Product placement- I found Red Lobster's purloined recipe cheddar biscuits in the baking section of Kroger's. I made them for my defense against the power outage and tried them tonight. They are just like the real thing. Yum.

declutter day 215 item tossed -Plastic container why kpet-Held cat food why tossed -Was going to use it for storage but I have like SIX of them. Recycled.

Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

Dickens got a paper bag caught over his head like that the first week I had him. He was so scared he expressed his anal glands, which until that moment wasn't something I knew cats could do. I felt so awful I never let paper bags with handles near him again. :/

I hope they find something that helps your shoulder. That sounds miserable.

oh geez. this is now the first time he's dug into the recycler and done that. He's also managed it with my cloth bags.

Oh I need surgery. I know that. I just didn't want to have it here in sucksville.

I love on-line shopping, but it is totally impractical for shoes and bras. sizes and fits vary too much with different makers (and countries). and a wrong fit in either is murder. let's hope shopping mall disappearances (and ELE meteor impacts) don't start happening until we're gone

I barely tolerate buying books and music online. I like being able to pick up the book. It's horrible for buying manga or graphic novels you're unfamiliar with. I have zero luck with clothes. Even shirts are an iffy buy. I have a closet stocked with things it cost too much to ship back but don't fit right.

Don't get me started on shoes.

I like to skim through and feel stuff too before buying (and I love to pre-smell books! =D ), but I save so much money getting my graphic novels on line, sometimes $10 a book. we are lucky to have 2 pretty good comic stores locally, so I try to alternate buying from them and going on-line for more expensive things.

most of the time I find any savings is instantly removed by the ridiculous shipping and handling. I was forced into Books a million's club card just to get that removed or why bother

agreed. that's why I love amazon so much. I try to find companies that do "free shipping with orders over $ ___" as much as I can. amazon even used to be tax free until texas whined like a b*tch.

I won't shop amazon unless I have no choice. I hate all their practices and now they're out to rip authors off even more (they want 60% of our profits now)

Amazon has a ton of shitty practices. illegals in the warehouse, trying to control all of publishing, it's a little scary

Yay for a snow day.

I'm not sure what the editor was doing.

Poor, dumb Kanda. He and Pewter ought to get together.

big yay. I accomplished much.

I think he got tunnel vision looking for DSPs big no-nos and missed the forest for the trees if you asked me (also thinking that this might not be his genre or I bored him)

Kanda...has only seen Coco the obnoxious Chihuahua. I'm not sure how he'd handle a dog really

Good for you.

that could be. Tunnel vision is a horrendous thing.

Pewter would try to chase him. If she saw him.

indeed it is and it's the nicest thing I can think of that explains it

that would be bad. Either Kanda would run or he'd go on the attack

Yeah.

Maybe they shouldn't meet, then.
