but its reality I sort of hate. All the beautiful rebirth brings a million things I'm allergic to and mom yelled at me to go take my inhaler. I didn't want to but I got exhausted just struggling to breathe. Now I'm so jittery I can hardly type. Whee.

But other than that today was good. I got the tests graded and they were mostly where I would expect a test to be. Finally.

I decided to try out the new(ish) BBQ place in Jackson, Rowdy's. I laughed since the sign said Dr. Brian Morris says you don't need teef to eat our beef (He's my dentist) and while I was there he came IN! Ha. The sign didn't lie. The beef brisket was amazing and they gave me the burnt ends on the side just because they were there. OMG is there anything better than the salty smoky burnt ends of a smoked brisket? I think not. Then the stomach said you ate too much but I didn't care. This is the first good BBQ since I left florida and that was a decade ago.

The chair of my dept sent me this. I NEED it.

And on that note the librarians asked me for book recs today

Found another of those talented young artists covering pop music on classical instruments.

I want to own it. It would be for the cat I suspect since it doesn't look comfortable but still

I can see tire tracks through the pollen in my apartment parking lot.

It was that bad 2 years ago. Even students who never had allergies were red-eyed and snotty. I might die if it gets that bad again (or at least wish for death)

The only thing I don't like about that chair is it has no arms that won't leave you with funny marks on yours. I'd rather it be a bit wider, with actual arms. That's me, mind. Oh, and an ottoman/footstool, also a bookshelf, preferably on wheels or something, so it's easy enough to move.

Mom and I wanted BBQ. Sis KS wanted fish. Sis KP didn't care. We wound up going to a fish house, and both sisters ordered burgers. Mom wound up with a fish sandwich, and I had a calzone which was okay.

Huzzah for libraries asking for recs.

I had the same thoughts. Actually it might need to be a couch. It doesn't look comfortable which is why I told Robert it would be Kanda's chair.

I would have stabbed Sis KS

My librarians like me

A couch might be nice. Or maybe it folds out like a transformer into a bookshelf?

Sis KS nearly got stabbed. My calzone was okay, there was no real flavor to it. Sausage and Pepperoni both need spices, and neither of them, nor the marinara sauce, had any, as far as I could tell.

Mine like me, but they don't ask me for recs. Of course, I do post mine online to the library directly, semi-regularly.

Mine is also on GR with me and I said look there because I could only remember one book on the spot

Transformers: Book bots in disguise.

Yeah. I mean, there was LOTS AND LOTS OF FOOD, it just was...kinda blah.

There you go. Speaking of which, I need to go through my manga and find out what I still need to get to finish out my collections of FMA, Ghost Hunt, and the one with the princess and her Dog-demon.

Yeah, though our waiter was good, and funny, and told us that by the time we'd been to the restaurant fifteen times, they'd start sharing all the good secrets.

Hmmm.

Ha! That BBQ slogan has been used by a locally-owned place here, Honey Bear's BBQ, for decades: "You don't need no teeth to eat our meat!"

Of course, now I want burned-end brisket. No, there is nothing better! (I may have to pick up a brisket when we go out shopping later...)

That is a very cool chair. And takes care of space problems! :)

Survive Spring!

hahaha I love the name Honey Bear for a BBQ place.

Oh man, seriously, I was looking at the briskets myself today.

That chair does

survival looks iffy at the moment

Honey Bear's is good, too -- although because they HAVE been around for a while, some days are better than others.

I actually forgot when we were at the grocery store (we didn't pass the meat counter). I'll have to go back.

It's been bad for me, too -- and usually Spring is actually GOOD for me (I'm more allergic to carcinogens, smog, etc., than pollens).

Yeah restaurants get like that (my favorite Mexican one is)

Oops

that sucks. You know when I was in Tucson I was looking forward to not having allergies only to have them worse than ever.

Well, Arizona is now a BAD place to come for one's allergies, since everyone who moved here brought all their plants with them.
