The new school year could have had a better start

My stupid alarm went off, blinking its brains out but made NO SOUND! I was an hour late to the meeting. Great. Nothing like being late to meeting the new provost.

He's a former English prof and it shows. He told a lot of stories and went off on tangents. But I did volunteer to start a science seminar at the local library AND I volunteered for additional training as a safe zone ally for the LGBT students. Not sure what that entails yet (mom - you volunteered again? You already do too much. When are you finding time).

They did cut the Veterans' commission after our last report. I'm disappointed. I know there's no money for our recommendations but there were things we could have done (I think he's mostly sweeping clean the previous administrations stuff).

It wasn't a bad day, frustrating on the whole but that's university life.

My asshole neighbors, after sending their 8 year old son over to ask me to adopt the cat, removed EVERYTHING they had out for him, the litter, the box and more importantly the food and water. It's like tag, you're it CoM. Fuckers. (and he was pounding on the wall again last night. I can't tell if the tv is too loud or what because sometimes he does it when it's not on)

yes I think alarm 2 has gone bad. And yes that sums up the feelings well. If it were any other faculty development day I'd be more who cares?

The neighbors keep doing this to me. Rin will be cat #39 I've had to deal with since I moved here 8 years ago.
