The faculty is already beginning to crack

I had a co-worker in my office today swearing up a blue streak about this new block schedule. Never heard her swear before this. It's killing us. And it's killing any student in the science/computer science/math and health care fields which is a good chunk of our student body.

Happy birthday rain_oubliette. Hope it was a good idea. If you get down here for Mothman, I'll have your gift ready or else I'll send it eventually.

And on Terrible Mind's blog we have Hugo award winner Kameron Hurley talking about writing as a business (though I will say this, his dismissing a 500$ advance as useful really depends on your genre and publisher. For big names that is rather insulting, for indies and erotica, that's about what you can expect). Everything else in here is very much food for thought because nowadays the author has to help out more than ever and has to know how this game works. Lord knows I've made mistakes and I'm sure they've cost me.
