I'm so over this semester. Between students who refuse to put a moment into their studies (whoever started this 'let's fix all their mistakes for them' bullshit needs kicked in the groin repeatedly.) and a coworker who should have retired a decade ago (he broke my real skeleton and hid it. Okay to be fair, a student might have but he had tagged it for a test and didn't tell anyone it broke. I saw Ling was missing his foot today and hit the fucking roof). I really regret my choices in 2000-2001 so much some days.

I didn't leave work until very late and my research student was still there. Sigh. Here's what people don't know about teaching at college level. We only get paid for face time. So the SIX hours I worked in my lab today to prep for the test and all the other crap i had to do, is free. I don't get paid for it. I worked an 11 hour day and get paid for five. blech.

But there is good news. My short story The Light of Winter is up on Goodreads. It'll be released soon (I am willing to trade it for reviews if you're interested). My first, probably only contemporary story.

I've picked up a bad habit. Lots of contracts are being announced and while I know I'm only half way through the standard wait period on submissions I keep looking to see if I've news on mine. Bad CoM.

Ugh that moment where you're looking at pictures of your fandom and someone has a huge ass spoiler right there in the open. WAAH. (which is what I don't like about tumblr. I don't think you can cut for spoilers, can you?)

Concerning cutting spoilers for Tumblr, there is a thing called "read more" where you can cover up writings and fanart. Gif sets and photo sets though are harder to cover up.

Ah okay. that helps, thanks. I just know a lot of friends have whined about that. I have issues following the comments. they way they arrange messes with my dyslexia so I don't spend a ton of time there, yet at any rate.

Tumblr - yeah, like bay115 said you can hide things under a "read more" which functions just like an lj-cut, but people almost never do. What I've done, and what a lot of people do, is to download an extension called Tumblr Savior, which has a list of text fields that you fill up with which tags you want it to hide for you. If you include, say, "white collar spoilers", it will hide all posts that include those words in the tags or text. It's not perfect -- the big failing is that it only works if people correctly tag their spoilers, which a lot of people don't -- but for me it's really the only way to be on Tumblr and be in fandom without getting spoiled for things.
