Lucky Uncle, his wife, Mom and I went to the meadows race track and casino tonight for the St. Paddy's day blow out. Only platinum players get to go (mom and I were guests. We dont' gamble that heavily). The buffet was amazing. I ate so much shrimp cocktail. There were bangers and mash and salmon and a pork loin with guinness sauce none of which I touched. Ate damn near everything else though, pickled beets/eggs (love pickled eggs), a sweet potato/apple/raisin 'Waldorf' type salad that was fantastic, shepherd's pie, corned beef with grainy mustard and a huge cheese spread that I could have eaten in it's entirety. Also had some sugar cookies, an Irish take on tiramisu using Bailey's Irish cream served in a shot glass (I had two) and mom and I split the huge Bailey's Irish cream cheesecake slice. So. Much. Food.

However before the food, Mom and I sat down at the Gold progressive we like. I put in twenty and it was gone in a few spins and on the last spin, the machine game to life. I won 135$. I played around after dinner and I hit bonuses on every machine. Mom spotted a new game and pointed, "There, Dana, go there!" It was a Dungeons and Dragons game complete with male or femal avatars. Won more there then lost part of it on the Walking Dead (though I got the best bonus there).

There was a bizarre new machine that was huge, a cylinder about 8-9 feet in diameter and the top of it was like a roulette wheel. If you hit that bonus the ball drops and you get whatever slot it goes in (10$ only in my case but it was fun). I hit a great bonus on my last machine, 11 free spins then hit the other bonus in the middle of those. Won50$ on that. I came home 120$ richer.

Good night.

I forgot to mention yesterday that Dad and I went out to my car. I did notice in the last few rains that the corner on the driver's side tail light the trunk is wet. I couldnt' see where it was coming in. We investigated and it was worse than I thought. When we took out the spare the well was filled with about an inch or more of water. We had to drain it. We pulled out all the upholstry in the back. What a pain in the ass (and I'd have to do that to change out a tail light). No where was a leak. Everything was dry and dusty except that corner. it's like it's raining inside the damn trunk. We couldn't figure it out but at least we buffed out the huge scratch I made scraping that 18 inches of snow off the damn car. I never have easy problems.

WHOOT FOR MONEY. And yay for all the food. It sounds so yummy. Well, maybe not the sweet potato salad.

Eww to the leak in your trunk though. That's nasty.

Big woot.

That salad was the best part.

it's disturbing. It might force me to replace the vehicle earlier than Icare to

I might just pull out the plug since we're entering rainy season. that'll help.

YAY MONEY!

But most of that food sounds kinda gross (sorry). I don't much like the food of our homeland. Except for the shrimp cocktail, of course. Who doesn't like that stuff?

and a mystery leak really sucks (hopefully no stinky musty smells to come)

I have to admit I'm not a fan of bangers or shepherd's pie myself. Love corned beef if it's done right.

yeah the leak sucks

I love corned beef and cabbage - abd pot roast or roast beef. Those are all fabulous. The other stuff not so much.

And what's really weird about that leak is it was in the taillight and the well the spare tire sits in. Those things aren't even next to each other are they?

Yeah though that sweet potato salad was pretty amazing.

Here's the even weirder thing. The taillight itself is bone dry and dusty so there's not even evidence it IS leaking. But water is coming in that corner, running along the trunk bed and into the well

I like sweet potatoes - I do baked fries with them that are quite yummy. I think I'm just one of those people with a limited palate. Unadventurous. Somewhere along the way, food has betrayed me, and I never got over it ;)

and that is weird... maybe a rubber seal is bent and letting water in. one of my old cars did that at a back window. or a missing screw somewhere?

snort. I am very adventurous with food. Texturally I dislike ground stuff (which is whyI don't like sausages).

We looked at all that. The thing is absolutely perfect. It's a mystery
