For some reason half of what we needed for micro was never ordered but that's not the dangerous part. Wednesday I had issues getting the gas to work for the bunsen burners. Today DM couldn't get it to work at all so she and I and L went to investigate. There is NO emergency shut off in that lab for the gas. What the holy fuck? We took this lab from the prof who wasn't doing anything but that means for years there have been working gas jets with NO turn off. We're obviously looking into it. sheesh.

And dangerous to my free time: Neil Gaiman’s Neverwhere radio show (in theory. so far it's boring).

The faculty meeting was over 2 1/2 hours long but at least we're doing better financially.

I'm trying to pick my vacation. Have to admit I've looked at Nova Scotia/Cape Breton. I admit it, all the come to Cape Breton if Trump wins and you want to flee viral ads put the idea in my head. I've always wanted to go to Nova Scotia. However, it looks like an insanely long drive which means I would have to fly and rent a car. That might be more than I want to pay.

Found a really cool Scottish castle tour. I mean if I'm going to be shelling out tons of cash...

Then I remembered I wanted to see the Ozarks and stay at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs. That might be doable. I'd go right through Eville and I could spend a day or two with ELD and right through St Louis and there are a few things I've wanted to see there too. Hmmmm

Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

How has the school gotten away with having gas jets with no off switch? It's amazing there hasn't been an accident yet.

Good luck picking a vacation. I'd really like to explore Nova Scotia sometime. They advertise with us and the ads always make it look so appealing.

if it's in that room it's totally covered and this building is at least 25 years old...

Thanks. Nova Scotia does look lovely

Sounds fun! Are you going for it?

The British Isles has quite a few castles. Most are ruins, but a fair few are worth looking at. The best one close to us is Dover castle. Been there many times!

doubtful as I need surgery this year which is why I even have the summer off.

Yes you guys sure do. That one looks really cool. thanks.

The only one I've been inside of is this one (I also saw Criccieth castle from the outside) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harlech_Castle

well the Tower of London too, which probably counts as a castle-like thing

and that was after the hour and a half union meeting (which I missed) AND the committee meetings in the morning. They moved us to this dumbshit 'four day a week' schedule without even thinking how impossible that is for math/science/allied health with our 4-5 day a week content areas and decided fridays were meeting days.

And no one came to the meetings. This year they decided all meetings will be on just one friday. Well math/science still have 5 day a week work schedules and the rest of the people...still not coming

I guess math is not the strong point of those who did the scheduling.

Reading your comment to Mom and shaking my head.

At least our meetings are only about an hour long and every other Friday? Unless there's some important news and we get hollered out of our cubes to come and listen.

WHEEE to the no shut off with live gas. That's extra special.

Well, coming through Eville would be great...I'd like that.

We're the model of how not to do it

yeah I'm thrilled my lab is a ticking time bomb.

I'm sure you would. I'm still not sure what I'm doing.

You are! It's great. Like some wacked out sitcom no one would ever believe.

Ditto, ditto.
