I didn't feel particularly well and it sleeted all day. Let's hope tomorrow is better. Sadly between my internet addiction and feeling like crap, I didn't get nearly as much done as I'd have liked. At least I got the mid terms graded and the 500 pounds of dishes washed and the carpet swept. I even found the couch under 100 pieces of junk mail and tests and other random bullshit like 30 chapters of edits.

Kanda is losing his shit (it is after midnight after all). He's running around and leaping up walls. Hey at least he's moving. I did feel bad. He saw me packing the suitcase and started making his distress cry. It's like dude, you love being at Grandma's. Get a grip.

I had to go back to Jackson for pills and I decided rather than make even more dishes to go to Arch and Eddie's. It was packed to the gills. I sat at the bar and that was a good thing. I got to see that their tasting board (which is the price of one full beer) would actually add up to one full beer (as opposed to the dinky glasses you get at some places). that would let me taste 4 drafts at once. Neat. Because my choice today Nugget Necter from Troeg's of Hershey PA wasn't good. I should start writing a beer journal. Seriously.

Mother says only Kanda can come home. Besides me zinging her, I put up a meme picture the other day as it was Middle child day and it said 'happy middle child day. But it'll probably be ignored.' I put it to the attention of my cousin and her son (both middle children) totally forgetting Mom. I'm a middle child too! You FORGOT me.

Guess I'll go to the priory in Pittsburgh :-)

Speaking of hotels, UK friends, what exactly does 'self catering' mean? I'm looking at places in Scotland and some of them range from luxury spa suites to 'self catering.' I mean it's sort of obvious but maybe not. Is it just food on my own? I'm fixing up my own bed? Because I would totally want to stay in a castle (and can only afford the 'self catering ones' and in a broche.

self catering can vary slightly, sometimes it means no one will come in and make your bed etc but not always depending on the type of place it is. At the very minimum it means you make your own meals.

Thanks! That's what I was figuring. I rarely eat at a hotel so that's not really a problem for me. I'm not sure I'll be heading to Scotland this year but within in the next few....

Glad you wound up staying home if there's sleeting going on. And yes, you should write a beer journal. You could come to Eville and try the local beers, like the Klingon ale and others. :D

Kanda is making a mantra of your icon. I.e. I shut both bedroom doors and he knows he's about to go in the killing cube (i.e. the travel box)

I should. Well if I do the Ozark trip....

Always a thought.

Poor delusional Kanda. Does he shut up once you're on the road or does he keep singing?

Glad you got a bunch of cleaning done. I'm doing that myself this weekend. I forgot that my co-worker is staying over Monday night so I kinda need to get all the crap off the couch. Half is covered by a big box that is trash and needs to go to the curb tonight. Still gotta clean off the kitchen table so we can eat at it.

As answered above, self-catering generally means fending for yourself. Some places make beds but most don't – but be careful if you book a self-catering and check that linens are provided. It would be a bit of a pain for you to bring your own bedding and towels on the plane! If you like cooking or the freedom to make a quick sandwich at home (for instance) this might be a good choice for you.

yeah I would definitely NOT want to have to provide my own for the obvious reasons. I won't be doing this any time soon and would probably still end up doing a tour with someone because I wouldn't want to do it by myself. If I was just in one town that would be okay but I'd want to travel the country.

thanks
