One day I will learn

Too many times I say things thoughtlessly at work, things that will come back and bite me in the ass if I'm not careful. Things I will obsess over until I make myself insane and sleepless. I do it every. time.
I do it when I'm tired or sick or overworked and not thinking. I need remember silence is golden. With any luck those words were forgotten as soon as I said them.
That said I DO find it creepy our utterly unqualified dean of students sits around scanning snapchats to see if he can catch students doing bad things but maybe a good learning experience for the teens who live online (and how you can't trust your friends who put it up there in the first place).
A lot of the angst around the Welsh fellowship is resolved and in a good way. I'm already working on an idea for my own proposal. And just noodling around I found This guy who is doing the research I'm interested in. Yes, I WILL be sending him an email. Worst he can do is ignore me or tell me to piss off but it's worth a shot to open a dialogue.
Today Iktomi would have been 20. I still miss him. He had such personality.

Date: 2016-04-15 02:12 am (UTC)So I stuck MY foot in my mouth today after complimenting a co-worker on her outfit yesterday, I said, "Aww, no bright clothes today, you're wearing something dul...I mean, CALM."
Oops.
