after only sleeping in 70 minute 'naps' all night, I dragged into work where the students who were supposed to meet me early didn't for the second week in a row (but did email me to ask 'what more can we do to pass?' There are FOUR classes left. You're screwed. You should have asked me that about 11 weeks ago)

It hit me too that there are FOUR classes. I have far too much to cover. I'm now trying to get it to the point I can do a chapter per class. Every year the students get slower and less and less prepared for college. I do NOT know what the fuck we're doing in high school but we're turning out kids who can't function without being coddled. Seriously they're trying to outlaw red pens to mark up mistakes on papers/exams because red is SO aggressive and it causes anxiety in the students.

THen I found out that we are not switching from the block schedule and they didn't bother to tell us. I hate this school more and more. I hate that the job market for professors is shit across this country, unsurprising in a country where the politicians hope we get stupider so to question them less.

So I was really looking forward to going to the writers group meeting. I shoved down dinner and made the nearly 50 mile trip. No one showed up. Our leader said she wasn't coming but not until after I had left. I think from now I'm not going to bother unless I ask early in the day who is going to be there. THis is not the first time this has happened that I've taken two hours out of my day, burned up five dollars in gas for nothing.

I could have gotten SO much work done if I hadn't gone. Sigh.

And the fact that it was nearly 90 today put me in a bad mood to begin with.

The only good part of the day was I did manage to slice Corpse Powder down to 12K and got a crappy blurb written.
