A couple of my older students who would be my friends in any other setting told me about it today. Sigh.
It's not a secret that I suffer from depression. I'm also allergic to 90% of the medications to treat it so I do alternative things: like music. One of the things that really helps me is to turn on music from h.s./college and remind me of times before depression got its claws into me. There's just something about 80s music that makes me feel young and full of hope and possibility again. Prince's music was some of my favorite. I shall miss him.
And this was on top of some really weird shit at work (that I can't talk about but damn).
I did get to the united health care biometrics thing and I get 75$ for showing up and up to 200$ if I jump thru their diabetes and weight loss hoops. No problem. 1) As a doctor I know it can't hurt me 2) as a doctor we've long feared insurances will say 'well you didn't TRY to manage your disease so you're cut off. So yeah, pay me to listen to your diabetes lectures I could do in my sleep.
huh, so for some reason Prince's people blocked ALL the raspberry beret songs but fine I hated that one. I remember being on the school trip to D.C. and some girl put that ONE song on an entire 60 min tape and blasted it all the way there until we finally revolted.
