The days flew by and tomorrow I head home. 3 1/2 hours in LAX, yikes. I haven't packed yet, mostly because I'm so tired :-)

I need to get a camera with good anti-shake because my hand is getting bad. Half my beach pictures are ruined. Sigh.

Also it was 50 and raining like hell. It was atmospheric as hell.

Had a strange encounter with a homeless woman on the train. I got on and the stench of urine was terrible. Honestly I thought it was the dishelved old man and had my eyes on him when I sat down....across from the homeless woman who smiled beautifically at me and inclined her head. She was so very pretty but her and her bedding smelled like they doubled as her toilet for months. I can't help but wonder why and how she ended up there (and wondering how fast lice move which I always wondered when I worked homeless shelters giving free care back in school). The homeless in Portland though have become an overwhelming issue in the last couple of years. I don't know how any restaurant stay in business as you have to cross a line of homeless to get into any of them as early as 5 pm in the good parts of town (Oregon has a strong record of helping the homeless so word is out but there are just too many to help for the resources.)

Here's hoping things go well on the flight. Got one breakable thing that's super heavy. I have it very well wrapped but by morning I might have it jammed in my carry on (though if they break a volcanic ash figure they were working hard on it!)
