Made it home
Aug. 14th, 2016 11:01 pmSomehow. I was just outside of Steubenville where it's a very lonely part of Route 7 and my cell phone and the emergency alert system went nuts. I was driving into the path of at least two spotted twisters. One over the mall I have to go past and the other near I-70. There's no place to shelter and no where to turn around. Luckily all I had was very heavy rain.
It's stinking hot here. I'm too tired to unpack much. My landlord promises to bring my stove tomorrow. There's a new cat on my porch and I saw a double rainbow in brilliant color right by the apartment. It feels like I never left here. I can't believe school starts next week.
I came home to find the breaker in my computer room mysteriously tripped (that made me a bit nervous) and my DISH was dead. It needed major updating from them before it would work. I'm glad I got it back because I wanted to watch Inspector Lewis.
Also the flooding in the area backed up into my toilet which is filled with mud but at least it's not all over the bathroom this time.
In good news, that cipro I had for my UTI also blitzkrieged my sinus infection. I'm feeling much better!
And let's work in a little writerly ways here. Anyone have any good agent sites they want to share? Someone was sharing them on one of my groups. I need to go find them. I was thinking about agents because I'm reading one of the things I won off Goodreads and it had an author's thank you to her agent. I was a bit stunned. This thing is practically a PWP and I can't imagine it getting an agent when I know so many of us can't get one. SIgh.
And happy belated birthday to
lilachigh. Hope it was a good one.
My friend ES has some good links in general as per usual so here they are!
Creating realistic cultures for the fantasy writers in the group.
7 critical elements of characters, of plot, of view point, a very good post all around.
memorable characters
And one from someone on Twitter that looks interesting PTSD in your characters
I haven't been tracking my writing lately since it's all been on paper.

Date: 2016-08-15 10:57 am (UTC)New cat on the porch. Geeze. Backed up toilet? Is it working or not? I hope yes. That could be awful. The tripped circuit and dead dish are both annoyances.

Happy bday to your friend!
Thanks for sharing all those links! Your friend always finds interesting things to share. *gets lost browsing them*
WOW! I guess it's true; sex does sell, if this is what what someone wrote & had an agent to help sell it. o.0 Then again, why am I surprised? Fro fifty shades of crap, to peeps on your blogs saying they only want to read that & forget the rest. I bet "Tales from the Boudoir" a collection of PWP (It contains everything form Het to yuri to yaoi to tentecles to 3-somes to more-somes to solo to every kink imaginable & those you never knew existed) will be the next NY Times best seller. >.>
