So the good news is
Aug. 26th, 2016 09:59 pmMy A/C was simply low on freon and Honda doesn't think anything else is wrong with it. That's good news. That means I can drive Naru around another year to get my money out of the repairs from earlier in the year and the new tires and trade him in next year. The wacky shit of that is cars his age and mileage are STILL over 10K. At least Honda's hold their value. I do have to take it up in 2 weeks to be sure nothing is leaking.
I took their offer on a shuttle to the mall. Surprisingly Sears, after looking so damn sad in April has found new better clothing, a line called Simply Emma, very pretty, lacey. I ended up getting two shirts. Who knew? I tried on beautiful jeans in JC Penny's which had lovely embroidery on them...and the button/zipper was SO low it was barely over the pubic bone. thanks, I'm far too old for that nonsense.
TJ Maxx had so many great Halloween things. I picked up two huge wine glasses, a skull mug and really wanted so much more. For those of you who wanted that Haunted Carriage I bought last year, they have it again.
I also did a bad thing and bought rose Turkish Delight.
And walked into the weirdest Hallmark ever. It had a country store in the front and the actual Hallmark in the back. COuntry crafts seemed....overwhelming.
I came home to find that QUeer SF accidentally offered the wrong book for free of mine. It was my fault. I donated one then realized oh hell I can't DO that. It's not a self pub and switched it for the one that did but that got forgotten. It's fixed now, thankfully.

Date: 2016-08-27 02:09 pm (UTC)Yeah? We have a Sears here & I might be needing some new work clothes. There's an opening at the museum where my friends work & the woman in charge is going to push to hire me! Wish me luck! Slightly less money than I make now, but less stress & more hours & it's a county job! (Which is good as they're hard to get, plus in the long run, they pay well & no more NOT being allowed to take time off without a huge hassle!! :D)I HATE jeans like that! My fat stomach hanging out like that is sooo not a good look. Plus I hate the way they slide off my butt when I sit down. XD I wish clothing manufacturers would realize that not every big girl has a flat stomach or feels comfortable wearing something like that & that we want PRETTY clothes too!
Cool!! I never shop in TJ Maxx as I've never found anything I like in there. Maybe I should go in & take a look at the Halloween stuff.
My Dad LOVES Turkish Delight! :D You used to be able to get in Publix, but last time I went to visit my Granny in Florida, they didn't have any. I always pick up some for Dad when I'm there.
Wow!We only have the one Hallmark in the mall & it's a card store. I can get basically the same stuff closer to home & I'm supporting a local mom & pop store.
OOOPS! I'm glad that was fixed! Hopefully, it will encourage peeps to seek out you other work. :D

Date: 2016-08-27 02:31 pm (UTC)I hear you. I do find Roaman's online has very pretty plus sized clothes BUT there's shipping both ways if you get something that doesn't work. Mostly I haunt Macy's plus sizes sales racks and have beautiful clothes (top size is 24 though, though I'm betting that's the same at Sears). The SImply Emma line was pretty
That was my exact thought on those jeans. You can't always just upside something for the plus market. It needs cut different
GOOD LUCK on the job interview. That would be fun. Doing what?
I have the opposite problem. I find far too much in TJ Maxx. It was embarrassing that last time with Mom how much crap was in the buggy (that said it's usually more for the house than to wear). It always has Turkish Delight as does my Kroger's. The worrisome thing to me is that it is from Turkey (I worry about quality control in some countries. I just bought two Asian themed snacks only to realize later they were from China. China and Mexico are on the top of my avoid it list for food)
That Hallmark was surreal.
Yeah I'm glad it's fixed and that is the hope. It's really cool that Scott (who runs Queer SF) does this.

Date: 2016-08-27 04:46 pm (UTC)*nods* I usually shop in Target or online & I tend to buy stuff that's XL & 2XL, like t-shirts & stuff that's not fitted. It'll be nice to pick up some jeans & nice tops to wear. :D I'll have to check out Sears when I go shopping. :D
Yeah. XD I think they go from a perfect size 8 & go up or down with the sizes. Since very few people are a perfect size whatever, most things don't fit right.
Thanks! I called them today & they're going to process my paperwork. I'll be doing anything form whatever the program happens to be, for example Native American culture from the area, to helping in the gift shop, to running classes, to helping with the bday parties. I'm kid friendly (which they're looking for) & I work well with people of all ages. :D
Aaah... Yeah, I worry too cuz my Granny will buy stuff like toothpaste & toiletries from the dollar store & a lot of stuff there can come from China. ^^; I'll buy make-up brushes from there, but not make-up. I worry it might not be good form me, or have more allergens in it.
Sounds like it! XD
Good luck with it!! Yeah! It's nice that peeps are willing to do something like that when all anyone wants is how much money it'll make them before they'll "help."

Date: 2016-08-27 07:53 pm (UTC)I have to go 80-100 miles to find a Target sadly.
that sounds like a great job. Wishing you luck
yep I won't buy most of that stuff from Dollar store. Nothing that I eat or soak in (like bath bubbles)
yeah I know. This iis a really good community

Date: 2016-08-27 08:17 pm (UTC)Wow! I only need to drive about 10, 15 minutes to get there.
Thanks! I really hope I can get it! Thank you again!! *huggles*
Yeah... Although, I think I've eaten dollar store cookies & lived to tell the tale. ;p Seriously, I only buy frames, cards, decorations there. And I did buy a cereal container for Gilbee's food, but it wasn't working right, so I brought it to work to use for the granola they put in the yogurt parfaits. :D
*nods* It really is! :D

Date: 2016-08-27 09:43 pm (UTC)Haha yes but I live in the middle of nowhere. My actual closest (barring online) choice is the Wal-Mart which is @ 15 miles in either direction or the K-Mart (near the Wal Mart in Gallipolis).
Here's hoping.
Yeah that's what I do with the dollar store, buy cheap junk I don't care if it breaks.

Date: 2016-08-27 11:25 pm (UTC)Oh. XD I always forget that. XD I can walk to TJ Maxx, which is about 2 miles from my house. I've walked past it several times when I do a big walk around the neighborhood.
Yeah!
*nods* Yeah, it's best to do that. :D

Date: 2016-08-28 03:02 am (UTC)that said I'd rather be back where i grew up. Way out in teh country BUT only 25 miles from Pittsburgh so in less than an hour you're in a major city
