Medical update
May. 25th, 2004 03:52 pmWell the ding-dong nurse called me to tell me that my liver tests were fine and that I definitely had an infection (I asked for the white blood cell count and yeah definitely do). A GI infection? Huh? Dr. Mari said it was an occult infection and I agreed (I.e. we don't know WHERE it was, hence occult)It was more likely a UTI since I have the usual female predisposition but it was clearing up by the time I got to the doctor's.
Had the ultrasound today. I was less than impressed with the way she was pressing that 20,000$ ultrasound transducer into my ribs (she left bruises) then left me covered chest, abdomen and back with ultrasound transductive gel. (She makes one half asses swipe with a towel and I try to get the rest off with the paper shirt they gave me and ended up having to drive to work and wash the rest off in the bathroom).
I took a peek at some of my pictures/report. Looks normal for the liver and right kidney (I actually have two kidneys which believe it or not is a concern with my genetic background). I guess they'll be calling me with all those results in a few days.
