I'm getting to the point that I am going to snap and people who know me well know what that means.

It's not been a good day. My best friend from college's mother died today. I won't be able to make the funeral (okay in theory I could but I'm not going to be)

And L was whining about being too busy which in theory is okay but she ALWAYS does it in a way that suggests she's far more busy than I AM (I mentioned this to EB who was about as pissed as I was).

I also got roped into going to a dinner with the board of trustees. It turned out to be decent, mostly because they left the few faculty alone and we sat and talked. The provost and president saw me there. One board member did come over to say hello which was nice. And the new communications prof was there with her husband and she seems nice.

And because I'm insane I decided to volunteer to be "show captain" for George Takei's play. Okay it won't be any work because we have to give up our zip codes. Like it will be within 100 miles of me

I'm already re-thinking my Nano. Part of me says I should do what I planned. Another part of me says I should do something in Splinters's universe because it would be nice to have two books to talk to an agent about. Another part says I should finish the Torn SKy universe sequel I started as a camp nano. And all parts of me are kicking the part that says do Kaleo's story because he never shuts up (but I don't want to write as Jana this year). Sobs.

Maybe you should write a few paragraphs, like 2 or 3 and go with the one your muse falls in love with. That should be enough to quiet the other characters in your head that won't be the focus of your nano. I know it works for me & I always keep the idea of working on something a different set of characters want as a reward for being "good" & staying on task (writing/working on what I should be working on).

I actually like that name for him too, maybe it's a sign you should keep it. And if you want me to, I can change his name in the stories I have where I borrowed him. I think it's one or two. *would have to hunt them down & check*

i think the problem is it's hard to out shout Kaleo. But he might be happy to have his name back. I need to figure out what he looks like.

Yeah my only novella right now is SF and oh the one urban fantasy one and there's no chance I could write a pure fantasy one in the time frame for this but they're going to do others in theory.

Don't you worry being on a tear with the book means you qualify! I will just put you right there.
