Pimping

Before I forget (which I keep doing) Aaronlisa is doing a ficathon of a different kind. It's for original fiction. You sign up and guestimate your word count and you're writing your own stuff for yourself. Basically it's like a little nanomo. The idea is to do shorter, original fic. I'll be giving it a shot. Maybe now with more magazines doing online submissions I won't be spending more than I earn with submitting genre short stories. You can find it here. orgficficathon

Stuff

Mom took off work today since I'll be leaving soon and we wanted to do something fun that didn't relate to the 1001 things needed for the holidays. We went to the Phipps Conservatory (for those who read my SIlent Night this will be familiar). I haven't been to the place in close to 30 years. It was great fun. The only problem was they were all tropical/subtropical plants and having spent the last three years in florida doing conservation ecology, I've seen all this stuff. Still the settings were lovely. I took pictures. Some I ruined by putting myself in them. One roll of film went in for development and the other is half-shot. If I get something worth sharing I will.
