more of the geek weekend

Taking a break from grading exams (and realizing I buggered up two questions on the lab practical and had to take two answers for them). So as promised pictures from the convention (no neither I nor evil_little_dog are in them since we weren't doing cosplay).

I'd like to restring the array medallion on something actually attractive. ( more of COM’s magic beans )

Just as I snapped the picture Alucard and Integra Hellsing stepped out of the shot (darn it) so all I ended up with was Trigun. ( Trigun cosplay )

This young man was doing a very passable Major Armstrong. He could have hammed it up even more since well Armstrong is so over the top ( the Strongarm Alchemist )

It's not often you'll see the Fullmetal Alchemist and Barry the Chopper together. Barry was being played but a fairly young man who wasn't quite sure how to go over the top but he did a good job with the costume. I appreciated him more than Ed, who's pretty much a dime a dozen ( Fullmetal and Barry )

I'm still kicking myself for not getting the old fellow in the Shojo outfit or hunting down the girl who did a good Seras Victoria and the guy who looked like Gluttony...no make up needed

the blahs

There was one thing not blah today. I got my care package from sita_137. I love it thank you very much. I made the chana masala tonight and it was great. I've never seen this brand. It has a website. I need to see if I can order some.

It was a dull teaching day. Correcting exams, even duller. My story, ugh, duller yet. And I tried to watch Bones tonight but within a half hour I just wanted Temperance dead. DB just isn't sexy enough to make this show bearable (though half my flist will disagree). The pirate stuff was cute. I figured out it was a salted shaft way before they did (and a woman in her field doesn't know the term 'salted' please, no way. that is NOT some pop culture term). If she whined once more about that bone being put into a solvent I was going to kill her. All Hodgekins (or whatever his name is) had to do was take the solvent and put it in the mass spec and find out what particulates were there. That's how its done in the first place. Brennan is like running a cheese grater over your naked body.

So I fled this show and into the tub...only to find out once more I have no hot water. That's it. I've had it. I live alone. I have my own hot water tank. There is no reason that 2-3 days a week I have no hot water.

Okay maybe this shouldn't be called the blahs. It should be irritated for no good reason
