I about strangled my secretary who told me 'you just have to snap out it' in regards to my clinical depression. This is a woman who HAS depression and is pretty heavily medicated for it. I think she meant you need to do what you can to help yourself but that isn't what she said.

And then I was reminded how much like Sheldon L is at the party today (birthday. Hers) and I brought frosted brownies (knowing she likes chocolate) and the response was an eye roll and 'well you bought it so I guess I'll try it (I gave the remainder to Chair who's birthday is monday).

And BB was there and I apologized for being such a shitty friend. I've been out of contact for weeks and it's not about her cancer but rather my depression. I felt so damn awkward tonight and I should have.

I did manage to get my proposal in for the provost grant and am considering putting in for faculty release time because NO ONE is. I can't believe our faculty. we're going to lose all these cool things because no one does anything.

Sigh, one of my favorite local restaurants is closing.

ANd for the third time in the last few weeks I've turned on the wrong burner on the stove and destroyed a pan. I don't know what's wrong with me.
