Flails excitedly
Feb. 5th, 2009 05:44 pmFirst off THANK YOU to
wildrider. Somehow I had gotten some dates wrong. I thought the Amazon Breakthrough Novel contest was in March (that's the quarter finals as it turns out) not this week. The deadline was Feb 8th or 10,000 novels whichever came first.
Well I did get Machiavelli Moon submitted successfully. Hopefully the hurriedly reworked pitch is enough to move me to the first round. You've been hearing me mentioning MMoon a lot these last few days. Let me tell you about it. I started this when I moved from NYC to South Dakota to do a residency partly on Pine Ridge reservation. I got immersed in the Lakota culture. Even better, I got to indulge my love of history in Deadwood.
The two themes married my love of working with Supernaturals and mystery. Maddelena, vampire, casino owner ends up wrapped up in a murder mystery as someone from her past it out to destroy her friends first then her. So if it does get to the point where you all get to help with the reading and the choosing I'll let you know.
