First off THANK YOU to [livejournal.com profile] wildrider. Somehow I had gotten some dates wrong. I thought the Amazon Breakthrough Novel contest was in March (that's the quarter finals as it turns out) not this week. The deadline was Feb 8th or 10,000 novels whichever came first.

Well I did get Machiavelli Moon submitted successfully. Hopefully the hurriedly reworked pitch is enough to move me to the first round. You've been hearing me mentioning MMoon a lot these last few days. Let me tell you about it. I started this when I moved from NYC to South Dakota to do a residency partly on Pine Ridge reservation. I got immersed in the Lakota culture. Even better, I got to indulge my love of history in Deadwood.

The two themes married my love of working with Supernaturals and mystery. Maddelena, vampire, casino owner ends up wrapped up in a murder mystery as someone from her past it out to destroy her friends first then her. So if it does get to the point where you all get to help with the reading and the choosing I'll let you know.

Yay! Congratulations! I love MMoon, even with my general apathy where vampires are concerned.

Sweet! Good luck! Wow, NYC to SD was quite the move. I'm in love with both states.

Yay! I got in, too, even though I had to create a gmail account to get there! I submitted "The Long Way Home," which marries MY fondness for magic with the Old West! *g*

I ought to read MMoon; it almost sounds like the same idea/plot I have for the sequel to "Ring of Fire/I Walk The Line," where Sean Patrick is framed for murder...

snort, stupid system but at least you got there. Granted you and I are probably up against each other.

Maddie et al getting blamed for murder was going to be the sequel. She and Sean Patrick would so open dance clubs and bars together, though the poor little Catholic boy might be a little at wits end with an old Pompeiian prostitute

Well, you know, when it comes to SEX... (he does keep a mistress through the late 60's into the 70's, when she sort of dumps him because people are starting to think he's her son).
