I got a call this AM from a co-worker about our shopping trip tomorrow. Did we want to go today? (actually someone from the theatre died yesterday and they're laying her out tomorrow. I don't know her but L. does). Naturally shopping sounds good. I had Borders Bucks I wanted to use.

We went for lunch at Olive Garden then hit the brand new Halloween store since we both can't get enough of that stuff. However we don't know our roles yet so it's too early to buy anything for the theatre and why in the name of god are the latex dummies 100$+ WHO is buying that in this economy? Afterwards we hit the mall and just puttered around. L is ...wellif you took my love of biology, [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog's love of toys and puppets and [livejournal.com profile] ishte's love of cycling, you'd have L. So we played with the puppets for a while (made my hand hurt). Found my entire childhood in a "hall of fame" box (a yoyo, crayons, a slinky and a few other toys). And I took advantage of the buy 4 get one free manga deal. But realized as I sat to type this that i FORGOT the damn border bucks. Mostly because i got into a conversation with this older lady whos granddaughter who likes manga trying to explain this is NOT kiddie fare and that they are more adult. At which point the cashier said yes but we dont' have adult ones here (rather hurriedly since the lady seemed displeased). I was going to point out I had a rather explicit yaoi in my stack but that was a conversation i didn't want to have. Oh well, I think I can use them online which is good since there were a few manga I wanted and I couldn't find.

Mom was telling me a funny story today. Lucky Uncle's wife chucked an apple core into the yard where a squirrel had gotten it. Lucky Uncle stood there watching the critter just merrily eating the apple until Tipper, his cat came around the house. Just as Tipper moved up on the squirrel, it saw her and got so scared it SPAT apple all over her. Tipper came running for her daddy in a panic.

I had a bad dream. I was someplace staying over night for a few days with [livejournal.com profile] evil_little_dog but she died (no idea why) and her sisters and mom were there (among other peoples) who wanted me to help move her off the futon before it got ruined because the sisters wanted it. Meanwhile I had to sleep there a few days with ELD's corpse. Oddly this didn't bother me.

For one week, recommend/share:

Day one: a song
Day two: a picture
Day three: a book/ebook/fanfic
Day four: a site
Day five: a youtube clip
Day six : a quote
Day seven : whatever tickles your fancy

Book? just one. I think not. How about this, if you like supernatural mysteries, give Kay Hooper's series a try. There's an ungodly amount of them now so library is your best bet. Ditto the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris, vampire urban fantasy. Historical mysteries, how about C.S.Harris' Sebastian St. Cyr series. Manga - fullmetal alchemist. Young adult -Gaiman's the Graveyard Book, one of the best things I've read all year.

Ebooks, well since the e-anthology with MY story still isn't out, I decided to promote a friend of mine's ebooks. She was thrilled and did a little write up on her two enovels over here I beta read most of both of these and they're a lot of fun. If you like them ordering info can be found
here
