fan stuff and writing woes

First up, I need to either regain my ability to concentrate or turn off the internet. More and more I write not at all when it's on. This has never been a problem until 2010 rolled around. I'm not sure what the issue is. It's disturbing me. Either that or find someone to do word war challenges with.

Fan stuff - Last night SyFy was running Chrono Crusade This was IMO an underrated anime/manga. I liked the manga better but I thought the anime was pretty good but so few people I know ever saw/read it.

In reading Ouran High School Host Club last night I was reminded that I pretty much only like comedies when there's a dark serious underbelly (which Ouran has). Though sometimes I want to slap Tamaki into next week. I want HIkaru.

I also realized that one of the reasons I really liked Ghost Hunt manga and anime was that everyone had respect for each other's beliefs. We see pure science (since Naru seems to have no religious beliefs) right along side Shintoism, Buddhism and Christianity and no one sees this as odd or as a point of argument. I reallyliked that. Wish the world was more like that. I also liked that they did tackle some uncomfortable things like Lin's feelings about the Japanese.

Also in researching something about Ghost Hunt I completely spoiled myself for the novels. Granted it probably doesn't matter since they were published beginning in the late 80's and the manga is over so I will never see these details but I really wish someone would translate them since there is a lot of Naru's history we never got.

Also in that meme (look back a few posts) as to who do you think I might be I got a couple othe options.

Most people think I could be Chris Mustang. Well, okay I can go along with that. She has her own sense of style and lots of smarts and probably has a string of dude and yeah I'm starting to really look like her

Then they offered up Dr. Stein. Well yes I ASPIRE to be Franken Stein. He's smarter than hell. He loves dissecting. He flings scalpels at students. My God. How could I not want to be him?

And then there was Dr. Knox. Yep. I'm already sort of him too. I'm pretty damn crochety and I was a surgeon once and I would have liked to have been an M.E. like him

Cleaning doesn't just blow, it's freaking dangerous

And I don't mean all the swelling up from the allergies. No, today I was cleaning up something in the kitchen closet, fell over backwards, bashed my elbow and the small of my back just above my butt cheeks right up against the edge of the kitchen counter. The elbow is a little sore but the bum has a six inche welt across it. The good news is, unlike a lot of my boo-boo's you won't be seeing a picture of this one. No one wants to see my fat ass with a big bruise under (over?) scoring it. Sleeping is gonna be a bitch tonight especially since i landed on the bad shoulder too.

I'm about done with the living room. No signs of the damn netflix. oh well. It's probably gonna be mine now if it ever turns up. I'm waiting until I get the kitchen table cleared off before making the call though (knowing me it's in the fridge or something. Want to know how many times I've found my phone/remote controller in there?)

It cooled off so much today. yay but oddly not that it's night the weather changed just enough and the heat skyrocketed to over 80 in the apt (outside is still cool.)

Writing to do list:

1. help_japan for Marlex, Seatbeltdrivein, Wintersqueen, still at a stand still until the pirate thing is done. SORRY. Two more weeks and I'll get cracking

2. prepare for whatever with helpthesouth. though so far there's no nibbles on Jana's offering. you can check that out here if you want

3. finish space pirates

4. RESIST TEMPTATION. I know I can't. Provided I'm not in the middle of surgery. I AM considering Nano summer camp. That solves the problem of do I write erotica or not this year. I can do both. There there's seatbeltdrivein trying to lure me into fma_slashfest and then cala_jane mentions bdsm_fandom


Okay that's a relatively short bigbang but here's the curious thing. It says it prefers BDSM universes but other fandoms are okay if you make the story BDSM. My question is WHERE are there only BDSM universes and why am I not reading/watching them? I know of Kushiel but that's about it.
