Work stuff again. What can you do? What I CAN do is not let them take up residence in my head but that's what I did all night. sigh.

But enough of that. You, my flist, ROCK. Seriously. You guys can usually lift me up and I appreciate your support. Last night

havocmangawip said something to me that just made my night and I'm sure she didn't realize how much it meant so I'm just going to say it. it made me smile when I was wanting to cry.

But the person I was complaining about tonight sort of amused me today. In some ways we're similar (both went to med school and not phd's, both have artistic interests). I get this phone call from the secretary. 'hey, porn queen, we need your expertise in the office.'

I go to see what they want and D, the one I don't particularly get along with is describing to TH what she is drawing (she is using paint in some sort of experiement) any how it's a winged lady with horns, cloven feet, tail and crooked halo. They wanted to know if people might find that sexy and TH and I look at each other and start talking about succubi and other sundries.

What was good at work today was listening to the accomplishments of the 9 people up for an award. btween them over 2 million in grants written, over 40 papers, and 50 conference presentations, art displays in over 15 countries and more. We might be small but there are some things being done here.

Also today was Academic regalia day. I wore my gown and the sleeve unraveled. sigh. Do you know what a replacement robe costs? enough that I'm thinking of joining the band just not to have to wear one if this is too dry rotted to stitch together.

ANd it is Woman's Day tomorrow (no I've never heard of it either until Care 2 cards sent me something today) so let's make the most of it ladies.
