Day of Discovery

Poking through the boxes of crap we've lugged out of grandma's. I'm keeping a black and gold lace fan I know she bought in Spain. There's a pinochle deck with two cards sets, one with Shiva on it and one with (I'm thinking) Shakti.I'm going to ask her about the set since it seems like a very odd thing to have.It's old. I wish I knew how to play pinochle. We also found a dream book originally published in 1928 but reprinted in 58. I figure evil_little_dog & silvrethorn would like it.

We did a lot of house searching. Learned geothermal heat isn't that good in my area and blindingly costly to put in. Found a house for 9,500 (WTF??) and one that is really nice. It's on the river and naturally would be in flood range but it's nearly 200 years old. I'm not seriously considering it, not because of that but because it's like 25 miles from everything and I would be alone. Mom and I were laughing so hard all thru the search, you'd think we were watching the comedy channel.

Went out with Lucky Uncle and his wife to a Chinese/Japanese fusion place. Dad pointed out that the promoted person was supposed to pay so I said fine, ordered sushi on top of the house special tofu but he paid (and then I felt b ad but it was happy our sushi so it wasn't too pricey)

Went to Lucky Uncle's house to see the cruise pictures. Now I'm even MORE jealous of the ice bar. I could so work there, hour bar shifts in the ice cold. Sounds like my kind of job. (I enjoy bartending.Not so much, waitressing)
