Writerly Ways

Reviewing means something a little different to everyone and it differs (or probably should) between fanfiction and original. In fanfic, we review others and they us. If you want to get reviews on your own work, you pretty much have to share the love with others. If you don’t bother to comment to them, eventually they’ll stop commenting to you. Often times conversations (pleasant and otherwise) spring up around these reviews. Go to my profile page and look at my friends. At least 90% of them are there because they left me comments on a story and we started talking, or I left one on their art/stories with the same results. Even if you take thirty seconds out of your day to say ‘good story, I really enjoyed it’ makes a difference. If you don’t bother, eventually your followers will go to more hospitable climates.

And I’m not feeling so well and I’m swamped so I’m just doing a yearly count today and not the break down. I didn’t get much done with those two exams I had to write last week.

the day started with such promise

then began to slide. I popped up, got the laundry in the car, got the grocery bags and coupons and the coordinates to look at more houses, sort of proud of myself to get up and going so soon. Halfway there I realize I forgot the camera. Okay, no biggie. I get to the laundromat and realize I forgot to bring the detergent. Sigh. Goes to big lots for some.

May I never have to go to the laundromat on a sunday again. This is 2 sundays in a row and apparently no one goes to church. they're all in the laundromat at 10AM. I see the houses, two aren't bad. I head for home with something new, blood orange sorbet (Kroger's brand). I rarely buy ice cream or sugary stuff like this but I figure in small quantities it won't be bad.

Then something happened that's never happened here. I was stuck in traffic for nearly an hour. There was a severe wreck, unfortunately. My blood sugar skittered sideways since I hadn't eaten. sigh.

I spent the rest of the day grading and just finished recently. Wow. took forever.

I have a problem. I think I see what caused Soul to be so bad last summer. It is what I thought it might be, Kanda picking on him. He jumped Soul in the litterbox today. I've never seen him do that. Soul jumped him later while he was eating. But unfortunately some time while I was gone, the battle didn't go well. Soul's foot is swollen and he's hopping around on three legs. If it persists, I'll take him to the vet but that is SO traumatic to him that I don't want to do it for just a sprain that'll get better in a day or two.

And to top it all off, I broke my tea kettle. Luckily I had a spare
