Author’s Note -- written for springkink written for the prompt: Heine/Naoto: desensitization - each time he can get a little closer. It came out more of slow building of their relationship than anything sexy, I’m afraid. I hope that’s okay. It ends with chapter 57 events since that’s all the further I’ve seen. Lines of dialog were lifted directly from various chapters of the manga and belong to Shirow Miwa, not I. Thanks to evil_little_dog for the beta.

I sold an old vampire story to an anthology With a Twist. Frankly I'm a little surprised since it was old. I tried redoing two longer older ones with evil_little_dog's help but concluded one wasn't worth the effort and the other required more work than I had time for. I found another one with one of the characters from a series (not that you'd know it). Staples was picked up and I'm really happy. I've been trying with this one for years. Also, you know, looking around at another old vampire story today I found one I forgot that would have been fun to use but it had too much sex. I need to edit that one and shop it around.

I got my science officer's shirt today from think geek (they ran out of geek pins much to my dismay so I didn't get one). I'm not so sure I like the shirt but I'm keeping it (okay i like it but it's a) thin, b) the communicator symbol is flocked and those never last more than a few washings).

I had to do two things I didn't want to do today: 1. I was bleaching the mugs and glasses. My clean-appearing sink wasn't. As soon as the bleach hit the water it must have loosened up what looked like a layer of bacon grease but of course it was invisible until i put the glasses in...i was going to scrub them anyhowbut I had to scrub WAY harder than I wanted to. Cleaning blows.

2. I do not like using flea shampoo. I can't stress that enough. I needed to do something. Kanda had more fleas a week after I put frontline on him than he did before I frontlined. Soul isn't so bad but Kanda was a mess. I need to flea bomb this place, even though i've seen none hopping around the carpet. He took it well. Fleas fell off in droves. Poor cat. He didn't even fuss much when I shoved him under the spigot for a rinse.
