So I didn't write anything yesterday, but I used every free minute to think, and some unexpected plot piece fell into my lap. I'm not sure if it's good, but I only need a little to tide them over to the ending.

Thanks for the wishes on the ending! I chose a very restrictive (in-episode) setting for my fic, so I know exactly how it needs to end. Which is strange, since I hate retellings myself, and now I'm writing one. Well, I try to make it veer from the canon plot as much as possible, but I do need the ending to be the same.

Anyway, I'm going to sit down now to put that plot idea into words.

Ah yes, fanfic sometimes does have those restrictions unless your piece decides to chuck canon entirely.

I was never a giant fan of complete retellings with one or two changes or complete AUs in my fandoms either but i did end up writing them eventually myself.
