Today I returned to OH. Kanda took one look at the packing process and hid. However, it took so long he resurfaced, covered in dust bunnies to go sit on his 'safe spot.' It was easy to catch him and pop him in his box. He immediately went into his 'poor pitiful me' moaning cry. Kanda is usually very quiet even when he does meow. Not this. This is full on drama king, like I was dragging him to his doom. We were all laughing. Mom said it was heartbreaking (because it sure sounds like HIS is breaking. I need to record this some time). Thankfully he quiets in the car and you don't know he's there. He is not happy to be back here. He's been sniffing and sneezing on everything.
So my dad was boring but I do have things of interesting. For one it was Pay It Forward weekend on Facebook. I missed the big event of course, with grandma's funeral but I did get some things DONE. You can check out Jana's
Pay it Forward and if you didn't get the time to say anything about the writing project and wanted to, you have a second chance. Also I'm up for promoing anyone's stuff so let me know.
This is what else I did for the weekend. Pay it Forward weekend
1. Rounded up For the local food bank
2. Donated a garbage bag filled with clothes
3. Wrote letters to friends
4. Donated coupons to the community larder
5. Donating the holiday cards to St Jude’s card recycling program
6. Donating books
7. Donating grandma’s clothing to planet aid
8. Writing for charity
9. Sending expired coupons to military bases so their families can have them (they can use them for months after expiration)
10. Cleaned the church for a wedding.
11. Went through all the Coke products and beer bottles from Grandma’s funeral and took the tops for people who want them.
I also found the best house I've yet to see
here. My parents and I looked it over. We agree it's a great house and worth the asking price (the bathroom is made of adorable!!) BUT it's a) at the upper end of my limit and more importantly b) it's too much of an estate for one middle-aged arthritic woman to handle by herself. If it didn't have a pool and that trailer I would have to rent or sell...
This can't be true!!
Star Trek Voyager is TWENTY! Anyone know jack about San Antonio Texas? I'm looking for things to do this Memorial Day besides the Alamo and the river walk. These look possible (Might need to rent a car...)
Japanese tea gardens Natural Bridge caverns At least one of the
missions and of course a
ghost tour and I want to stay at the
Menger hotel and have a drink in its bar where Teddy Roosevelt used to recruit Rough Riders.
