Another summer in the bag

My face to face class did pretty well for non-majors. One of them drew a picture of Ed on Armor!Al's shoulders (the classic one you see on a lot of collectibles) for me. Another stayed after to pick my brain for the best anime to watch.

My online class, the one that was bitching so much at me yesterday...I had to pretend the essays were extra credit or I would have had to explain why I failed and ENTIRE pilot class. I wish I was kidding. Even at that only one did well. And this is at a level of a 7th grade health class if you ask me.

Condolences to my friend ES who lost her husband today. I'm so sorry to hear that.

And I want to give a huge shout out to evil_little_dog for all the beta work she does on my novels and that goes for wildrider who's in that critique group with me. And to silvrethorn for kicking me up the backside when I need it (and to ES for all the writing links) and to seta_suzume and kiramaru7 for pimping my new cover in their blogs and for helping beta read and/or doing original art for my novels. Ladies, all of you rock. Seriously. THANK YOU.


And thanks to everyone who offered a virtual hug yesterday. It's appreciated.

Kanda might need to go to the vet. He seems healthy and bad but still not eating. He IS playing in the wet carpet where the hot water tank is slowly but surely blowing a gasket. Yes Landlord, you might want to remove this NOW, just saying. You had one blow all over the place just a few weeks ago.

DId I mention my rent went up? Not much and it hasn't in years so I can't really complain. IN fact I'm getting this two bedroom apt for 50$ less than I paid for a 13X14 studio in NY 22 years ago or the 1 bedroom in Madison 16 years ago.

And Grandma would have been 100 this week. This is her and I at her 99th birthday. She didn't quite make it to 100 but it was close. Miss you.

FMA Big Bang - 929 words

Simmer - 1,048 words

Blood Red Roulette - 915 words

So nearly 3000 words, about 1000 words an hour. Not bad. This also knocks down three of my prompts for DW's allbingo

ETA #2 - Gasket blown. It's now leaking like mad. Turned the valves off. It leaked FASTER (WTF). Guess I'll be getting up every few hours to haul the bucket out from under it. Carpet is a swamp. Kanda thinks this is fun.
