And I made it home safely. It barely even rained on me in despite the dire warnings. In fact I stayed an hour later than I intended just so because I was having so much fun.

To be honest I should say the dealers room was fun. The only other part of the con I saw was the artist alley (and frankly FAR too much of that was exactly the same stuff again and again. It was huge though and there was SOME original stuff). I never got to any panels or the like because even though there were five of us none of us wanted to get TOO far from the table because people were so blown away we were the authors and might not buy the book if we weren't there to sign it.

We all sold well. Two of the authors were super popular (and have a following) then there was me and Sarah who are just starting (and Venona only had one book with the other popular authors). I was really worried that Soldiers of the Sun wouldn't sell especially after no one gave it a second glance on Friday but I sold five of the six of those and five of the Kept Tears so that was good.

I expected a shit ton of yaoi fangirls would be there but ALL of us (including a young male author with DSP who joined us with his drop dead gorgeous boyfriend (? just friend?) were shocked how many men stopped and bought (several with girlfriends in tow which was interesting). There were a lot of gay anime fans there, more than I expected (including one old Obi-Wan).

The dealer's and artists rooms were JAMMED. I'm not sure how many fans were there in total but I'm betting at least 15K. In spite of the damage the internet has done to dealers rooms (especially those selling DVDS because it was so expensive compared to Amazon) it was packed from start to finish. The line to get in in the morning was backed up three levels of the convention center (thank god for my dealer's badge). I'm glad of it. I've eaten so much mochi, red bean/lotus cream/taro buns, pocky and hiChew.

I did notice how old my fandoms have gotten. There was very little from mine there (I need new manga/anime. suggestions??) I missed seeing one thing that I would have gotten ELD if I hadn't gotten something else. On saturday I had only found one thing for ELD and a psycho-pass wall scroll (shoot me) for my office. Today I added to my t-shirt collection. (now I must toss three old ones to make room). I finally found the exploding TARDIS Van Gogh one (in non-Asian sizing) and a strange Amestris one but they were giving me 10$ off if I got 2. And then one of the authors told me about a chibi Severus shirt with him hugging the doe patronus with the saying 'always.' Had to have it (the patronus glows in the dark).

I'll take pictures of my goodies (also in there is one YA strong female character book and a graphic novel (female artist)

Oh and did I mention that one young man came and gave all of us his autograph book and had us sign it for him. How cool is that?

You could tell today was day three of a three day con. I went down for the breakfast buffet (which was empty!) and there were glassy eyed con goers everywhere moaning we love cons but we are SO TIRED!

Since all five of us took turns with the whole picture taking thing it might be a few days before I get all the pictures assembled. today there was an amazing Monkey King cosplay.
