I think one of my current issues with action scenes is how ridiculous they've become. I had no issues with Buffy taking a lot of damage since she was superhuman but far too many times I've watched our action heroes taking inhuman amounts of damage. Yes, I know suspension of disbelief. It only goes so far.
Like today on a Supernatural rerun I watched Sam's head get beat against the sink several times and he's up and fighting again. I saw the same sort of attack on Crimson Peaks and it killed the guy as it should have.
So between them going on too long and being too ridiculous and unsurvivable, I've lost my taste for much of it.
I'm watching a lot of 70s 80s and 90s TV and while they do have music, it's background, muted. Turn on a 21st century TV show or movie and you practically need close captions on because the music is so damn loud. I have to wonder why that is!
I'm also wondering what was different in the 90s because they look horrible on HD TV where 80s and 70s shows do not.
My edits were very minor so I am happy.
I'm less happy about Southwest Airlines and my student loans. The student loan site was so hard to figure out (every time you clicked on any of the income based repayment links it took you back to the home page) I had to go onto chat and get this arcane way of getting it done and even then I had to link it to my IRS info. Yeah, that felt safe. I was able to mention I work for a non-profit so it might get factored in for the first time.
As for Southwest, I'm trying to get help getting to my gate with my bad leg. Calling them had nearly a forty minute wait and I had to cook so I sent an email. They told me it could take a MONTH to answer it.
