I might as well do the snowflake post since it would be better to not bury it in the writing post. Okay I didn't completely waste it the day. I fixed the online portions of the classes for tomorrow (hmmm I should look to see when exactly I need to be there) and I am editing my SF novella but still....

I'm having one of my moments where I'm exhausted beyond words. Sigh.

Day 6- In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your wish-list if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people's posts. Maybe you will grant a wish. If any wishes are granted, we'd love it if you link them to this post.

I suck at this. I always feel somehow guilty in asking for things.

1. I will never say no to someone writing me Spike/Drusilla, Giles/Jenny, Dawn/Connor, Faith/Connor (BtVS/AtS), Riza/Roy, Maes/Roy fanfic (Fullmetal Alchemist)(or recs for the same)

2. If you ever feel moved to do an illustration for any of my stories you can find a lot of them here on AO3

3. I'd love you forever if you did fan art for any of my original fiction (or heck if you just bought and reviewed my fiction) much of which is here and here on AO3

4. I would love to see the readers take the time to review the books they read on Amazon. No, seriously, it matters. The gremlins that drive Amazon make reviews one of the most important factors in whether a book succeeds or not (as of this writing 50 reviews is the magic number). Amazon does not promote equally (and yet oddly takes an anti-ARC stance) so if you don't get the magic number, you sink. It doesn't need to be in depth or time consuming. It doesn't even have to be a positive review (but I suppose if it wasn't going to be positive you probably don't care if it helps that author out). If you want authors you like to succeed, help them with a review. (And hey fanfic authors love reviews too. Make someone smile today).

5. Be kind (something I'm reminding myself of right now as someone who knows nothing about which they're saying is arguing with me and it IS my field). The world can use more kindness.

6. Recs for any DW fan communities that are still alive (and more general, i.e. not ship centered) for either Buffyverse or Fullmetal alchemist.

7. A miracle to happen and someone has a copy of my lost works from 2003-2005 (all Buffy verse written under DM Evans) Young Lies (Buffy/Connor), Fumbling Toward Ecstasy (Spike/Faith/Connor) and Just a Devil with Love to Spare (Fang gang/Scoobies in Vegas)

8. Icons in any of my fandoms (Angel, Buffy the vampire Slayer, Fullmetal Alchemist, Star Trek (any of them)

And I thought a lot of us would get a kick out of this video.

Hey I did have something to say for a change but I said it over here ANd hopefully I was a bit successful in downplaying how soul crushing it is to have Blood Red Roulette selling so poorly but a story I wrote in two weeks has sold like 5 dozen copies in just a couple weeks. This writing gig can really beat you up.

In case you don't have time for my thoughts on contemporary vs genre romance here's the links duplicated here.

cornerofmadness: (Do not want)
I knew I hadn't been getting many comments lately. I just assumed everyone was busy with the holidays (though I was a little sad because I love hearing from people). I was too busy myself to even look into it.

Tonight I realize I hadn't received comments since Dec 12th! (strangely, the same day I broke my flashdrive!) I just spent the last hour catching up on dozens of comments. I feel bad.

So no, I wasn't ignoring anyone. I just never received any comments. I just found them ALL in my spam folder but the spam folder was registering as empty. Head desk. One HUNDRED and thirty comments in spam...
