Today was worse than Monday

Work got worse. The school of science chair got angry and let it out (which she rarely does) but FOR me (not on me). I am so over working. I mean today should have been an easy day with nothing to do but give an exam but it was stressful. So much so my blood sugar went nuts and was like 250 (which it hasn't been in a long time)

I also had my yearly ob/gyn visit and she's like why didn't you have a mammogram first? I ASKED! Your team wouldn't make the appt until after I saw you. She covered her face and said 'not again.' She knows who I am and what I once was so we talk and she knows I'm honest about it. I could not convince her staff that the mammogram should have been first so we could have TALKED about it at my appt. Sort of ob/gyn basics there.

I did get the stuff done for my Welsh proposal. I'll send it out tomorrow. I'm not sure I can get a half hour of of this but i should be able to).

I also finished my chocolate box thing (thanks to enemytosleep's help) I'll edit one more time and post it tomorrow, barely ahead of the deadline. Then I have to finish that damn stocking story (and enemy's at some point)

I also had my first publishing fail of the year. The steampunk anthology I sent my Rhode Island steampunk too decided not to publish the anthology because the other anthologies didn't sell well (to be fair, they rarely do).

This is the problem with writing short stories for an anthology because if they don't fly with that one it's hard as hell to place them. SOOOOO if you come across a steampunk or solarpunk anthology (not the solarpunk winter, my solarpunk story doesn't fit there) let me know. thanks.

And today was somehow even worse

More to do with that new class that I don't want to talk about but let's leave it as it's currently shelved and I loathe everyone. I'll get over it but my god this week just keeps punching me in the face.

And Mother Nature wants to pile on. Everything is flooding. Bad. as in I had to let students go so they COULD get home.

And the weather knocked out my satellite and I missed the last ten minutes of Criminal Minds so if anyone knows how that waste of time ended PM me....

Then my sugar crashed out at 10. Whee

And it all started with Kanda puking up hairballs all over the carpet this morning

In the good news side of things, my damn chocolate box story is posted and I thought the chocolate walk was friday but it's tomorrow too. (I knew it was the same day at this but I thought BOTH were friday).

Wednesday Reading Meme

I've not done this before but it looks like fun

What I Just Finished Reading: An Easy Death by Charlaine Harris. It's her new alt history dystopia and honestly if I could have thrown out the first 50 pages it would have been very entertaining. We don't need 50 pages of set up especially when they include murder (plenty of that in the book) rape and feral dogs that need killing. Once it actually got to the story it was interesting.


What I am currently reading: It's supposed to be Zero Sum Game by Cody
L Martin which I won (thinking it was the one by SL Huang) since I got this with the promise of a review. So far, it's not gripping me and I made the mistake of cracking the cover to Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse and it is OMG good.

What I plan to read next One of the two above.
