Somehow I lost this day

I don't know where it all went but it went by without me getting much done.

I did get into town and got my measles/mumps/rubella shot. The public health center (first time ever in one) was scary and sad and really has to be a dismal place to work. God. They also didn't really want to DO the shot. I'm like just do it. They said I could be sick, feverish and itchy. So far it was just a bit itchy that first hour. I do expect the arm to hurt tomorrow.

Found another story back in my files that proved I wrote a lot more Angel/Buffy/Spike than I thought...hmmm

I finally cleaned up all my icons and that made me happy.

What made me unhappy was moving the stack of pans on the counter (where they live) to find a giant mystery stain on the counter that I can't get up with anything. Yikes.

Mom DID finally listen to me and go to the podiatrist and as I suspected the toe was badly infected, worse than Mom was making it sound since the pod was talking IV antibiotics if cipro doesn't knock it down fast. Some of the other things she's doing makes me concerned but I have to remind myself I haven't seen patients in 19 years (sob, god I hate my life).

What I Just Finished Reading: Dark Rivers by Morgan Price. It's a m/m urban fantasy, with a Supernatural feel. I enjoyed it but MAN I'm SO BORED with sex scenes. Well skipping them gets you through the book faster. And I've been on a manga tear finishing Witch Hat Atelier #1 (interesting), Blue Exorcist #19 (renewed my interest in the series) and Devil's Line #9 (bored me)


What I am Currently Reading: Monolith, actually two books with that name for the Popsugar Challenge


What I Plan to Read Next: Not sure but it'll be for the challenge I'm sure



I think this video made me happier than the actual movie. I will say the TV show ended with a twist for Guillermo I hadn't been expecting. I'm still kinda meh on the whole thing though.

I hate when my brain does this

For years (starting in 1996 because I remember the very first time it happened) sometimes I'll use a chemical (cleaning, or more often or not, bug spray) and be convinced I've poisoned myself. I'm not. I haven't, but I'll get the burning mouth and throat and upset stomach and shakes. Even knowing it's psychosomatic it still happens.

Then again I can taste the bug spray on my lips so...(maybe but yes I know I'm fine even if my brain is like no you're not). How did it happen? I spent the morning cleaning house but left in the early afternoon to go to an early dinner with friends and then to my writers group where one of our more successful members was going to talk about marketing.

Anyhow I left the microwave out of position so the counter top could dry. When I came home and moved it a fuck-ton of ants (which I've been battling for months) ran everywhere so I sprayed them. Then washed my hands. Then washed the counter top. Then washed my hands. Then spritzed the counter top with cleaner. Then washed my hands until I couldn't smell chemicals any more. Then ate something.

Then my brain freaked out. (the burning is no doubt the three monster glasses of ice tea (on top of the three mugs of hot tea earlier in the day) chased by 50 ounces of coffee and oh Mexican for dinner).

Stupid brain.

On the other hand the immunization doesn't bug me at all other than being itchy as a mosquito bite.

But in good news, I did get another Buffy story moved onto AO3. God I have a lot of these things. From 2001-2006 (when I began to peter out and write a lot of Fullmetal Alchemist I had to have written over 100 stories...


Hey did anyone know they were putting Swamp Thing on TV? I didn't see what station (or if this is online only). I wonder if John Constantine will make an appearance? You know I was actually disappointed when Hellblazer only got one year.
