Why CoM can't have nice things
May. 31st, 2019 08:39 pmRain bombs. It rained incredibly hard for about an hour and then this happened (Long term flisters know I have a creek like a moat on three sides of the apartment complex and then a huge hill on the fourth side.
A neighbor bangs hard on my door. 'Come quick! You have to move your car!
And so I do. I try to get across the creek to high ground but nearly got swept away so nope. I did find a better spot to put it
Slightly higher ground
The neighbor in question standing where my SUV had been
Me right off the porch. It's higher than my knee. I'm nearly 5'9"
Found this little guy washed up on the side walk. All Hail Baby Snaps!
So I go behind my apartment to see the creek
Hello tree off my bedroom window
And that's my bedroom right there where ALL the water is running under. I'll be sleeping over a lagoon.
One neighbor panicked and called 911. I'm like if you really need out that bad, follow me up the hill. I'll get you to the other side no problem. Another called the health department in. Me I'm like it does this every year newbies.
The good news is the water retreated within two hours. And the peepers are now singing out their happy hearts.
The other good news, the first Christmas story I finished was purchased (really?!?)
