cornerofmadnessFirst off thanks for those of you cheerleading my nano. You are special and I thank you!
Two I did my writerly way on Jana's post so you can find it here and it bemoans one problem I know I'm having with my nano.
I have a two part soundtrack for my nano right here. One part has vocals and the rest instrumental and 90% are all about Camristy. Go figure (well it's easy to find music for the tortured soul).

It's World Kindness day so go and do a kindness!
And how about a peek into the character inspirations for some of the characters (I'll do the rest next week)
The Kalan people resemble Native Americans in coloring and slightly in culture like the Plains Indians but not much. I didn't want to make Native American clones in this (and the Kalan are a free and enterprising people without the Native Americans tragic oppression).
Adam Beach has been an actor who's got my motor running for years so he looked like a natural for our poison gardener Tenaldi Matisth. This is Adam from when he would have been around Tenaldi's age.
Tenaldi keeps his hair shorter though.
For Camristy I used David Midthunder whom I know almost nothing about but ran across him pinning pictures of Adam in Pintrest. He would make for a very good Cam.
And Cam is absolutely insistent on having jewel inlaid teeth like seen in mesoamerican Natives. I don't know why but he will not be deterred. Fine. Have your weird teeth.
And I've pissed away this entire day. Here have some writing links.

ETA - Okay now I'm pissed and worried. I had stopped giving Kanda's his ear medicine by the time we went to the vet and his ear was fine. She insisted I continue putting the drops in (and that makes sense you want to continue any antibiotic for a few days) but now his ear is filled with blood and pus worse than ever before. I'm wondering if he's allergic to it. I'm calling in the morning and if I don't get an answer I think a second opinion is in order. He's starting to hate being near me because he thinks I'm going to mess with that ear and I'm not sure if I'm helping or hurting him but a ton of blood and pus came out twice today. Sigh.

Nano Snippet - Camristy's breath froze, his chest aching with it. His mouth mimicked the desert south of his homeland as he stared at the woman in the lamplight. Hair of the deepest red billowed to her knees, loose now though he had seen it scraped back into a severe tail before. Her dress seemed almost liquid, flowing around her as she walked toward the bed, thick undulating syrupy waves like blood raining down. Her skin could have been crafted from moonlight but her eyes were black as onyx, as black as those of the red pearl bird he knew was somewhere beyond the curtains in this room, behind the glss of the window pane but still watching, still in silent communication with the goddess before him
