Even the hospital said WTF

Today they called me after learning I had no transport and they said they'd work on it. After trying to call the home multiple times (the home claims they didn't and that in fact the hospital hung up on them) the hospital direct admitted me and is sending someone to come get me (the home claims they finally found a transport and that the hospital had nothing to do with it).

How bad is it when the hospital says no way are you missing your surgery, we're coming to rescue you. They also said they will not re-release me to this home. they'll find a different one. How crazy is this?


I spoke the surgeon's nurse and have a better idea of what surgery I'll be having tomorrow. It sounds like they'll be removing my external fixator and putting me in a hinged long leg brace locked in extension (still hard to move around but at least no pins slicing my skin like butter) and then they'll do the repair another day in a third surgery. At least that's what I think is happening.

So keep the good vibes coming. It seems like it's working.

Oxycontin is one helluva drug

My leg went from I hate you for making me bounce around in an ambulance to who the hell cares what happens? I've never had liquid oxy before. it's gross AF.

I'm at the hospital who informed me the home wasn't as bad as I thought. Even they have to hold onto patients for DAYS after they should have been released because of the fact there's no transport. Now that covid restrictions are loosening up they are moving people everywhere. It's insanity.


Still I've never been so happy to be in a hospital room. It's a big one with a pull out couch. The poor phlebotomist was laughing at me. She butterflied a vein and the blood came out millimeter by millimeter like it was honey. We had to find a new vein. Even with a vein mapper the nurse couldn't find a vein that didn't look like a twisted old creek bed. Took a couple of tries to get an IV in me. My body is a weirdo.
