Down on the Farm

But before we get into Bob fest, let's have a moment of silence for Robbie Coltrane who passed today While I liked him as Hagrid I loved him as Cracker (how did that only get 2 seasons? It seemed like more!)

So Bob Evans Farm fest:

The Good: Beautiful day, 60 degrees, bright sunny, bit too windy, not wet/muddy like last year. Got plenty of good food stuffs (maple syrup, honey, fudge, coffee, tea) had a nice 2 hour amble. I got to pet some sheep, a donkey and some longhorn cattle (pictures if I ever figure out how to get them off this new phone), got my ham and bean soup that's cooked over an open fire in a cast iron witch's cauldron (got like a gallon of it)

Funniest thing I saw today: They had a turkey in with some peacocks in the petting zoo pen and he was SO trying to outstrut the peacock. The peacock was like, dude I'm not even unfurling my tail. You have no prayer. I didn't get video because the phone refused to switch to it. Someone else's phone was doing the same. It's like WTF

The Bad: I don't know if it's the new management, the cost of a table vs sales or if they didn't survive Covid but most of the vendors I like are no longer part of this. There is no woolen stuff. ONE jewelry vendor vs a half dozen back in 2019. It's nearly 100% country crafts and food. Well I don't like country crafts. No one I buy gifts for likes country crafts. So I can buy some over priced food stuffs (which I did because I like to support indies) and be rather ho hum about the crafts or maybe I need to start going every other year because it was a little boring. Even the glass vendor I usually buy from has done nothing new. Mom doesn't need another glass paperweight.

I got home, graded some stuff, submitted a story, yelled at Frontier on the chat, yelled at Macy's for sending me a bill after it was due and got the late fee removed and somehow it's like something to 11. How?

And then during the Prodigal Son party tonight I noticed Lou Diamond Phillips liked one of my Gil posts. He was not tagged in it so the realization settles in, he's actually looking at his friends' feed. Really glad it was NOT the earlier one about my just posted story (for spikesgirl58's 6 word challenge) about Gil/Jess car sex! But I wonder did he see it and I'm just O_O
