Boy I hope that's in my office

I can't find my flash drive. I think I left it in the office. I'm not too worried about it because I've been obsessively backing up everything on the computer too but naturally today's nano and the powerpoint I need for that promo thing tomorrow are both on there and no where else because the back ups didn't work. yay. head desk

So damn annoying. At least part of what I wrote today is backed up here. ANd then the loaner laptop crashed and took everything with it. So hopefully that flash drive is in my office.

What I Just Finished Reading:

Four Leaf Cleaver by Maddie Day, a cozy mystery set in rural IN. I thought this one was pretty good. I'm glad I got an arc for it.

Handbook for Homicide by Lorna Barrett a cozy mystery set in rural New Hampshire. HOW is this a successful series. The protagonist is so obnoxious half the town hates her. I'm with them. How are three men vying for this woman I have no idea.

The Magic Fish by Trung Le Nguyen A boy's coming out story using folklore to try to bridge the gulf he feels between himself and his parents.



What I am Currently Reading: Murder on a Girls' Night Out by Anne George a cozy mystery set in Alabama, so far so good.




What I Plan to Read Next: I have a John Sandford waiting for my book set in Minnesota challenge so maybe that or some more of the graphic novels I grabbed (You know same thing I put her for the last month)


ETA - Okay things have gone a little off the rails. EVERY night I double save my fiction, laptop and flash drive. Right now the loaner laptop is telling me I haven't saved the novel since AUGUST third. What the hell? Where has it been saving to? This bears investigating further but I have no answers. It's NOT in the one drive either. Every. Night. It keeps telling me it's replacing the file as it saves. For that matter I didn't HAVE this laptop on 8/3. No one did. It was sitting in a box being brand new. I did a search on the file name and nothing but the one saved on an impossible date (and yes I looked, nothing new has been added to it) The FANFIC saved today. The other part of the novel, the villain interlude also did not save.

It should be over 25K but I have no idea how long that interlude was. I'm really upset about this nonsense.
